Customers say: Quick response

"Lou and his crew were great. Knowledgeable, easy to work with and quality. Lou came out measured everything up and gave me a quote over the phone later that day. Got me in the schedule and we coordinated around his other projects. Removed old asphalt driveway and installed new concrete slab in 3 days. Would hire Goodfellas again and recommend."

Small jobs welcome

"Brandon gave us an excellent quote. He is reliable & completed the work on time. He did a beautiful job and we are so happy with his work. He works with his father and they did a good job cleaning up after the job was finished. They were very polite and respectful of our property and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who needs concrete work done. I would absolutely hire them again. "

"OMG these guys are the BEST. They did some pointing work for me on my warehouse. Excellent work and communication skills. Frank answered my call one day and he was in Wyoming. (how's that for service) Matt always kept me informed on the progress they were making and I was able to do a final walk thru with both of them. I will definitely use them in the future. WONDERFUL GUYS AND EXCELLENT WORK !!!!"

Offers commercial services

"We hired Hurley Design Group for a major landscaping project that included building two retaining walls (one in the front yard and one in the backyard), planting multiple trees, adding landscape stone, and leveling and resurfacing our backyard. From start to finish, Luke's work was absolutely impeccable. The craftsmanship on both retaining walls was outstanding, and the overall transformation of our yard exceeded our expectations. He was professional, punctual, and kept the job site clean throughout the entire process. Very easy to communicate with and clearly took pride in doing the job the right way. We are extremely happy with the outcome and the quality of their work. I would absolutely hire Hurley Design Group again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-tier landscaping and concrete services."

"Brian came over after we had talked with several contractors about a concrete porch underside (in basement room) and one of those contractors made us think the concrete was in such a bad state of "imminent failure" that it needs a full replacement. So, while we continued to get quotes for a full replacement, we also asked a retired architect friend to give his opinion. He did not think concrete was so bad and he was glad we were having a structural engineer (Brian) coming over a few days later. Brian explained why he did not think the concrete was in need of full replacement (very expensive!) and also the damage was not a foundation/structure integrity issue (not "imminent failure"). We had spoken to several contractors and the cost to fully replace is upwards of 15-20 thousand dollars. From the state of the concrete, Brian did not believe the "symptoms" warranted a full replacement and that the more likely issue was simply that we never "sealed" the concrete with epoxy (and only painted the concrete porch). Given the sky-rocketing costs to do any home repairs, it seems more reasonable for us to do first level repair (not replace) that Brian suggests. Brian's honest and informative consultation (for free!!!) is piece of mind and a HUGE savings. We greatly appreciate Brian coming over to educate us - on his own dime. We will definitely ask Brian to come over again if/when we think we need an honest assessment of our home foundation needs."

"Lee was fantastic to work with. I'm still a little stunned we went from first contact to finished project in one week. His price was reasonable, he stuck to his word, he showed up at exactly 8am every day and communicated throughout. And best of all we are thrilled with the end product which will allow us to turn the basement into a creative maker space with a really beautiful feature wall. Looking no forward to working with him again."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Washington, PA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
