"Overall went ok.  On the positive side I am very impressed with Tim Barr.  He's easy to contact, communicate with, and seems to want to make all his customers happy with his work.  He came out and provided a quote the day after I called.  The work was done about 2 weeks later.   I like the fact that his company trims all shrubs prior to mulching.  I think this must be standard protocol for his company.  It is not something I asked for but was very happy to get.  The overall price was very reasonable.
On the negative side, the initial crew that came out to do the work did not edge which really upset me and was a major reason I was having this work done professionally.  It appears they were trying to speed thru the job as fast as they could.  They left hoses out of place and mulch was left in places where it should have been cleaned up.  Appeared to me the crew was doing a rush job.   I called Tim back a couple days later to complain about the edging.  He was very nice and said he would get it taken care of to my satisfaction.   Called a few days later and said he was going to send his "best" crew out to get it done right.   They did come back out and edged to my satisfaction.

"Thank you Start to Finish for making my house look beautiful. I contracted with this company almost a year ago, I was a client of Lawn Pride for almost 8 years. I don't regret the change at all. They are a great company, with solid values. They put the customer first, and their expertise and professionalism is subpar. I have used three different services from S2F, and I am extremely satisfied with the results. 1. They provide maintenance for my lawn, the combination of products they use is just perfect for my lawn, my grass is green, healthy and free of weeds. The technician is courteous and professional, he takes the time to put his machine through the small gate in the fenced backyard. He hasn't hit it once. Kudos for a great maneuvering skills. 2. Last year, I met with Cameron, and we talked about outdoor lighting. He recommended a set of Bluetooth color changing lights. As you can see from the pictures, you can seamlessly change the lighting colors from your phone. There is a huge array of colors, with the option of alternating the scene with up to three different colors. The installation was quick and efficient and the product worked right away. They have a very good warranty and don't consume a lot of energy. The price was reasonable and scheduling was very quick, even in the middle of January. 3. This spring, they mulched and cleaned my mulch beds for the first time ever, I have always done this myself thinking I can cut costs. It is totally worth it to let professionals do this. As you can see from the pictures, the level of detail in every mulch bed is something I can't achieve. They also buried the downspouts, this helps tremendously to control water from coming in the basement. This was done two weeks ago, and you can't notice the cuts in the grass anymore. The price was reasonable, and the work was done very well. Overall, I give Start to Finish a 5 out of 5 in every aspect of their work. I have no reservation in recommending them for any type of outdoor work you need. I encourage you to visit their website to see everything they are capable of."

"It went very well. All-Green kept my yard in good shape the entire season. I also received a call to remind me of the annual lawn core aeration service. Good job. I will use them again."

"A mixed experience: There are some very strong points with their performance. Mr. Fritchley is friendly and works very hard. His prices were very fair. They are amazingly prompt in addressing snow removal and usually do an outstanding job. They always worked very hard and fast when doing work in our yard. Perhaps sometime a little too fast, resulting in some damage. We tended to overlook the damage, because it was not malicious damage, but probably the result of working too fast, and we realize "time is money" and they have to make a living. Once our well cap, which sticks about 12" above ground, in accordance with code, and was clearly visible was hit and shattered by his leaf vacuum machine. Mr. Fritchley wanted to know if they could just knock it off at ground level, since we are now on city water. But, we use that well as a water supply for watering the lawn and had just installed a new pump, so he repaired the cap. When plowing our drive, he frequently got off the drive and plowed into the yard. We realized our drive is steep and curves so it isn't easy to see the edge when it is covered by snow. Because of this, we tried to mark along the edge of the drive with a shovel when it snowed and repaired the lawn ourselves without complaint when unintentional damage occurred. One time Mr. Fritchley called me and told me that a large pine tree of ours had fallen into our neighbor's yard and was causing a client of his distress, because we hadn't bothered to clean it up. I think he wanted me to pay him to clear the tree. I told him that we had many large trees in our backyard, but that I wasn't aware of any of them having fallen, and I would go check. We didn't have any trees down, and I did not recognize the name of the woman whose yard he said it had fallen into. It turned out to be someone else's tree and not even bordering our property. In the winter of '09 Mr. Fritchley was plowing our drive and accidentally knocked down a brick wall at the culvert at the base of our drive. We had just had two matching brick walls built on either side of the drive for $700 the previous summer, after carefully selecting a mason from Angies List to do the job. We wanted to hire the same mason again to rebuild the wall because we liked his workmanship and the materials he used, and wanted the walls to match. Mr. Fritchley wanted us to let him build the wall himself, and tried to pressure me when I told him we wanted to use the mason who had built it less than a year previously. I could understand that he didn't want his insurance company to know about it, but I didn't feel that my request was unreasonable, and I felt that his pressuring me was not up to the level of professionalism that he had demonstrated previously. When I didn't buckle to his insistence that we allowed him to do it, he turned the claim in to his insurance, and he informed me that he would not work for us any more."

FAQs for trees & shrubs treat, protect and maintain projects in Zionsville, IN

A tree doctor or tree surgeon is another term for an arborist. The term is more common in places like the United Kingdom. They are professionals trained to plant, care for, maintain, diagnose, and remove trees of all kinds. Tree doctors have specialized knowledge to ensure the health and safety of trees.

Arborists are tree care specialists who plan, maintain, and enhance the health of trees with expert precision. They prune, diagnose diseases, treat pest infestations, remove hazardous limbs, and manage debris cleanup while developing comprehensive landscaping plans. They also handle tree planting and work with landscape professionals to ensure long-term tree vitality and safety.

Consulting arborists are tree experts who can advise homeowners and business owners on the right trees to plant, how to care for existing trees, and what to do about trees that appear to be sick or pose a safety threat. A consulting arborist may work with local landscape architects, investment property owners, city governments, developers, and other arborists.

An arborist may be able to save a dying tree. If you notice that your tree suddenly appears to be sick or is exhibiting unusual behavior, contact an arborist immediately. They will thoroughly inspect the tree to determine what might be wrong with it—and will let you know if it’s possible to save the tree and how to do it.

Verifying an arborist’s credentials is crucial for reliable tree care. Arborists must be licensed by their state and hold certifications from reputable organizations such as the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Request proof of licensing and certification, and review local recommendations to ensure you are hiring a professional who meets high industry standards and adheres to strict safety protocols.
