"Todd was the tech on my job, he was friendly and answered all my questions Was varied, though, and did a fantastic job. His attention to detail was evident in how he set up and routed wires, ensuring everything was neat and looking perfect. He was fast and efficient and cleaned up the site when done . he walked me through everything he did and why . Would recommend Jco to everyone, their fair pricing and on-time services are truly a rare thing in this service area. Thank you so much, Jonathan"

"Problems with settings on new WiFi thermostat - technician called it in and was told that my model# had computer chip issues and to take it offline. Said I would be notified when the issues were resolved by the manufacturer? That never happened. When I called the manufacturer months later, I was told that my model# was never defective?????"

"They installed our heat pump a little over a yr ago.
We called when i was having some problems getting the house cool enough.
They were on time & explained everything as they went & made sure we knew what they fixed, how to use everything & how to problem solve a few issues in the future. They were kind, professional and efficient. I will always call them for our future heating & cooling needs.
Our baby is due in one month so even 68 is burning up to me, he lowered the temp for me & I'm feeling fantastic now!!!

"At night it will be 72 inside. And inside will be 68 or less. I almost freeze. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY."

Most professional HVAC technicians require two to three hours to complete an expansion valve replacement. The timeframe depends on your unit's accessibility and whether additional repairs are needed. The process involves recovering refrigerant, removing the old valve, installing the new component, and recharging the system. Scheduling during less busy seasons may result in more convenient appointment times.
Operating your air conditioner with a malfunctioning expansion valve isn't advisable. Continuing to run the system could potentially damage other components, particularly your compressor, which is significantly more expensive to replace. If you notice performance issues like inconsistent cooling or unusual noises, it's best to have your system inspected before continuing regular use.
Expansion valves don't have a standard replacement schedule, as their longevity depends on system usage, maintenance frequency, and environmental factors. Regular professional maintenance helps identify potential valve issues before they cause system failure. Having your HVAC system serviced annually allows technicians to monitor component condition and recommend preventative replacements when necessary.
Refrigerant leaks require prompt professional attention. If your expansion valve is leaking, you'll likely notice reduced cooling performance and possibly hear hissing sounds near the unit. Addressing leaks quickly prevents further system inefficiency and avoids the environmental impact of released refrigerant. Your HVAC technician will need to repair the leak and recharge the system with the proper refrigerant type and amount.
Because many AC issues present similar symptoms, professional diagnosis is recommended. Problems like inadequate cooling, inconsistent temperatures, or strange noises could indicate expansion valve issues, but might also stem from refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, or airflow restrictions. A qualified HVAC technician has the tools and expertise to accurately identify the root cause and recommend appropriate repairs.
