"We just had a full HVAC system installed by Ace & A, and couldn't be happier. Every step of the process was excellent from the initial repair call and scheduling, working with sales on a new system consult and the system installation experience. Because we were without air conditioning, they worked hard to get us in and scheduled a Saturday. We appreciated the professionalism, courteousness and, the number of years' experience -knowledge all of the people we encountered. We highly recommend Ace & A."

"I watched the serviceman who was knowledgeable, thorough, and neat as he checked both systems. We bought this place two years ago and depended on the house inspector's inspection the first heating season, mistake as it turned out. The serviceman Sanjay found the gas pressure was too high in both units, corrected that, and made a few other minor adjustments and checks. We can sleep well now knowing we as safe from CO2 and other problematic conditions while staying warm all winter! In the past I have used the company for electrical services and received the best service for the best price!"

"We were selling our house and an inspector point out certain issues with our central air. We thought we were going to have to replace the compressor. Hill HVAC came out and addressed everything on the inspector s report for a fraction of what we thought we were going to have to pay. Now the system is working like a charm."

"The ASSA MECHANICAL SERVICES LLC Team showed up promptly at the previously agreed, confirmed day and time. They immediately got to work with removing the old window mounted air conditioner unit which needed to be replaced and installed the new air conditioner. The whole process only took about one hour. A very professional and communicative team. The new air conditioner is working great. We’ll be requesting these guys again for any annual maintenance required for the window a.c. unit. Thank you ASSA MECHANICAL SERVICES LLC. Arthur"

Most professional HVAC technicians require two to three hours to complete an expansion valve replacement. The timeframe depends on your unit's accessibility and whether additional repairs are needed. The process involves recovering refrigerant, removing the old valve, installing the new component, and recharging the system. Scheduling during less busy seasons may result in more convenient appointment times.
Operating your air conditioner with a malfunctioning expansion valve isn't advisable. Continuing to run the system could potentially damage other components, particularly your compressor, which is significantly more expensive to replace. If you notice performance issues like inconsistent cooling or unusual noises, it's best to have your system inspected before continuing regular use.
Expansion valves don't have a standard replacement schedule, as their longevity depends on system usage, maintenance frequency, and environmental factors. Regular professional maintenance helps identify potential valve issues before they cause system failure. Having your HVAC system serviced annually allows technicians to monitor component condition and recommend preventative replacements when necessary.
Refrigerant leaks require prompt professional attention. If your expansion valve is leaking, you'll likely notice reduced cooling performance and possibly hear hissing sounds near the unit. Addressing leaks quickly prevents further system inefficiency and avoids the environmental impact of released refrigerant. Your HVAC technician will need to repair the leak and recharge the system with the proper refrigerant type and amount.
Because many AC issues present similar symptoms, professional diagnosis is recommended. Problems like inadequate cooling, inconsistent temperatures, or strange noises could indicate expansion valve issues, but might also stem from refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, or airflow restrictions. A qualified HVAC technician has the tools and expertise to accurately identify the root cause and recommend appropriate repairs.
