"I'm so annoyed that every time I cooked in the kitchen on the main floor the cooking smell go straight to the basement and my roommate is constantly complaining and he brought in a guy claiming that this guy can fix the problem. The was never fixed and cost me a good amount of money which made me mad. I looked up the comments online and find out how great people talked about Matthew. Through his trained eyes , he educated me how the HVAC system works and what's the problem and what steps should I take to solve the problem. Matthew pointed out to me that when I cook, I have to have the intake air (which I don't) in order to replace the exhausted air. The problem is my kitchen duct vent that takes the exhaust air to the outside is pointed downward right above my kitchen windows and one of them has the exhaust fan; so the smell comes out through the exterior duct vent and goes back into the house through the portable window exhausted fan. The solution is to open one window and turn off the thermostat during cooking. The best solution is to call Bray & Scarff to fix the duct vent.
