"Global Comfort installed a full HVAC system in my home; 7 new runs for air, new AC unit, new furnace and a new Nest thermostat, all electrical needs. Rudy and his team are respectful, efficient, punctual, competitive in pricing. Rudy walked me through running the system for its first time and explained all the stuff for a brand new system in a house that never had AC. I'm very thankful for the work they did. Highly recommend because their customer service is top notch."

"Aire Systems of Campbell and Saratoga truly sets the standard for exceptional service in the HVAC industry. Alton, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure I understood every aspect of the process, from selecting the right system for my small home to navigating available rebate programs. His expertise and dedication to customer satisfaction stood out as he guided me through the rebates step by step, emphasizing how beneficial they are despite the effort required. What really impressed me was Alton’s commitment to follow through—he’s not just selling systems, he’s supporting his customers well beyond installation. Daniel, the team lead installer, was equally remarkable. Always punctual and professional, he demonstrated a level of care that extended beyond the job itself. He kept me informed daily, explaining what was being done, what to expect next, and how long it would take. Knowing I had to leave for work, Daniel kindly spent time with my dogs, making sure they felt at ease while he worked. It’s rare to find a company that combines technical expertise with such personal care. Aire Systems, with Alton and Daniel at the helm, earns my highest recommendation!"

"Responsive service; on time; reasonable arrival window (meaning I didn't have to wait around for 4 hours!). Super nice technicians. Good solutions that make sense to the average homeowner. No up selling to things you really don't need. They just assess the problem and fix it. Right on time in the agreed upon window. Because I called early morning, they actually had a same day service appointment !!! This company has always delivered for me on my rental property and my personal property !! I like the reasonable price on 'small jobs' meaning less than $500. Some plumbing companies won't take small jobserved like that. The service fee to diagnose is extremely reasonable. And once they are there, you should just OK the work and be done with your plumbing problem !!"

"I discovered a problem with my upstairs air conditioning unit after business hours on a Friday night. At that time I completed and submitted a request for service on Home Advisor on line. Comfort a Energy contacted me via telephone early the following Saturday morning. We scheduled an appointment for them to come out and diagnose my issue. Their repairman showed up promptly and diagnosed the issue and provided a cost for repair. I had them repair my air conditioner and I’m happy with the result."

"My job was cleaning of Air Ducts and dryer vent which is not on the drop down list provided. I spoke with several companies to see about quotes and scheduling. a clean out for my dryer vent before I had a new dryer installed. Silicon Valley Air Experts called me right away, listened to the job and provided a transparent initial assessment and cost estimate. While talking to them I also learned about cleaning all the air ducts, which I hadn't done in some time. They showed up on time, completed all of the work efficiently and cleaned up afterward. I plan to use them again in the future. It was a wonderful experience."

Most professional HVAC technicians require two to three hours to complete an expansion valve replacement. The timeframe depends on your unit's accessibility and whether additional repairs are needed. The process involves recovering refrigerant, removing the old valve, installing the new component, and recharging the system. Scheduling during less busy seasons may result in more convenient appointment times.
Operating your air conditioner with a malfunctioning expansion valve isn't advisable. Continuing to run the system could potentially damage other components, particularly your compressor, which is significantly more expensive to replace. If you notice performance issues like inconsistent cooling or unusual noises, it's best to have your system inspected before continuing regular use.
Expansion valves don't have a standard replacement schedule, as their longevity depends on system usage, maintenance frequency, and environmental factors. Regular professional maintenance helps identify potential valve issues before they cause system failure. Having your HVAC system serviced annually allows technicians to monitor component condition and recommend preventative replacements when necessary.
Refrigerant leaks require prompt professional attention. If your expansion valve is leaking, you'll likely notice reduced cooling performance and possibly hear hissing sounds near the unit. Addressing leaks quickly prevents further system inefficiency and avoids the environmental impact of released refrigerant. Your HVAC technician will need to repair the leak and recharge the system with the proper refrigerant type and amount.
Because many AC issues present similar symptoms, professional diagnosis is recommended. Problems like inadequate cooling, inconsistent temperatures, or strange noises could indicate expansion valve issues, but might also stem from refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, or airflow restrictions. A qualified HVAC technician has the tools and expertise to accurately identify the root cause and recommend appropriate repairs.
