Comment: My refrigerator is about 11 years old. I've been having problems with it for some time now. I only see one thermostat for both the fridge and freezer. It is turned all the way to coldest. Sometimes the fridge doesn't kick on, so I tap the thermostat and it kicks on. Other times it will get too cold, and freeze. The freezer is the same thing, sometimes its cold sometimes its not. I haven't been putting much in it for obvious reasons...cant eat thawed out ice cream!! I also hear it make a loud knocking noise sometimes. Also when I hit the thermostat to kick it on, it will kick on for a second and then shut off. Sometimes I hit the thing 4 times before it will actually stay running.
