"Both were successfully repaired. The refrigerator needed a new circuit board, as did the stove.
The stove also needed wiring repairs, and a second board in the stove needed a small part replaced, which he did immediately. (A rodent had caused significant damage to the wiring and circuit boards of the stove; Fred was able to chase down all the issues, and make repairs on the spot, once the replacement board was shipped to him.)
For the refrigerator, even though the GE service manual calls for replacement of two boards, Fred advised of the option of replacing one board first, to see if that worked, which if successful would save considerable money. That is what we did, and it worked!
Fred is a talented technician, he will chase down your problem and fix it. He seems dogged that way; he simply won't let malfunctioning appliances defeat or "outsmart" him. It seems that he will also try to cover all of his customers bases as quickly as he can. (He can obviously be very busy, which I suppose can have some impact on his response time, but it seems he will work hard to work you in as quickly as possible.)
Some furniture needed to be moved to access these major appliances, this did not phase Fred at all: he was flexible and helpful with that.
Do not expect yesteryears pricing with this service company, you will pay a fair price for the work, rather than an absolutely cheap price, but with the current pricing of brand-name major appliances that are even somewhat deluxe, a correct repair is well worth it!"
