"I contacted three big-name companies to access a series of basement wall cracks. Two came and proposed differing actions. Neither solution, nor costs, appealed to me. I needed expert engineering guidance. Researched several candidates, and selected Mina Mikaeel. I informed him of relevant details about the house, and of my meeting with the basement people. He conducted a thorough assessment of the structure and the land grading. During that process, he advised me on the causes of the cracks and suggestions on how I can easily prevent more. He cited the pros and cons of Basement Repair companies, and then explained â with evidenceâ that my situation was not as serious as those folks led me to believe. Mr. Mikaeel then defined a corrective action plan: citing the necessary actions, the equipment needed, cuts to be made, the sequence, and specific materials for sealing. He also recommended qualified people, and offered to come back to assess their work. The work was completed. I have peace of mind (and a warranty on that work)! "We had LallyGone come in and remove a load-bearing wall for us as part of a larger remodel. We knew that there would be a post-required to support not only the new beam, but an existing steel I-beam that terminated in the same spot. When we opened everything up, it became apparent that in order to adequately support both, the post would need to be much larger than we initially thought - if we simply posted the new beam. We got George on Facetime so he could see what was going on and he worked in real-time with his crew to engineer a solution that not only brought the size of the post back in line with everyone's initial expectations, but actually improved upon the existing post which did not have adequate blocking underneath. "My wife and I hired Mathew of MLS Architecture as the architect for an addition to our house, and we love the way it came out! Mathew was very professional and easy to work with, since he was very communicative, collaborative, and walked us through the entire process. It was fun going through the design process with him, and he gave some great recommendations to make what we had in our head even better. We leaned on his experience quite a bit throughout, and were glad to have him there throughout the construction process as well, as he knew how to get the best work out of the contractors. Having had bad experiences with contractors in the past, it was helpful having someone on our side that spoke their same language and held them to a higher quality standard. "They are not local to my area. Please, hire local. And this is for Angi: Try not to recommend contractors who are a significant distance away, in this case around 80 miles (and 2 states) away. Great website, appears to be professionally designed and maintained, I like what they do (judging from the content in the website) but I am outside their service area. I don't live in that area. If I owned a home or apartment in that area, I would hire them."
