The entire experience was great. Luis showed up at the agreed time, calling ahead, and proceded to listen to what I was interested in doing. I had a particular design in mind, and Luis quoted that plus two other options. I wound up choosing one of the other options he recommended.

Luis was very thorough in his estimation visit, showing me photos of what he has done in the past to work in situations like my job presented.

The first work I had completed was the stone work. I chose to do that first, since I had not worked with this contractor before. This gave me a chance to see how that would go first and I was impressed with Luis and his crew.

Before undergoing the arbor work, I had concerns since I am going to have a stone-coated steel tile roof installed soon. Luis volunteered to coordinate with my roofing contractor. I put them in touch and they worked out the details. Luis has further told me that if something comes up during the roofing that he needs to address, just give him a call.

I have several projects going on and had opened the soffits before the arbor started. Since his carpenter was able to see the roof structure due to this, he had concerns about the roof structure where the main beam would sit, so they recommended setting the beam in the roof, to be supported by the walls. I agreed and they did an excellent job. They had some difficulty getting some of the flashing to dry in properly, so they came out at least twice following construction to adjust and test.

Following construction and payment, we had some rain, and I was concerned about some water wicking in along the bottom of the beam. I notified Luis, and his carpenter showed up before I had even left the house for work and we talked about it. The crew came out and put plastic over the relevant parts of the structure to allow it to dry out, and then came back a couple days later to add caulking to a part of the flashing that had not been caulked properly. We haven't had anymore rain since then to check out the results, but I have been impressed by Luis and his crew's dedication to making sure the job is done right.

I've found Luis to be very easy to work with and a very friendly fellow as well. He even made a volunteer of some help for another project I have to do.

"Mark's costs were much better than his competitors and it seemed he had the same type of product...their product brochures look very similar. Mark seemed to know his stuff and evaluated my closet thoroughly. During our appointment, he did a rough sketch of his proposal, which included removing everything and re-doing the entire closet. I wanted to initially keep some of what I already had, but Mark gave a reasonable explanation of why to do the entire closet vs partial remodel. He said doing a partial redo of the closet would not give a consistent look since the materials were totally different. Mark gave me a price estimate after he came up with a good design. The only reason I did not go with Mark is that I decided I wanted real wood built-ins that would be consistent with what I currently had in the closet. I decided to use a carpenter to build what I specifically needed and I would not have to tear out everything. If I was going to do a full remodel, I would have chosen Closet Storage System. I still may use him for my pantry or an upstairs bedroom, but I wanted the "real deal" for my Master Closet. One advantage to this system though is that they are in and out generally the same day."
