"Thomas was thorough and clean. He did a great job scraping the popcorn of our bathroom ceiling, repair the water stains on the ceiling and repaint it. He took the time to explain everything. We were so thrilled with his work that we hired him to do more work for us."

"I cannot say enough about Fred and the work he does. He completed a whole kitchen and bathroom remodel for me. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. We all know having your house in disarray is stressful. Throughout the project, his punctuality and progress was amazing. He arrived everyday ready to work and kept me constantly informed of the progress. The worksite was always well maintained and organized which cannot be overlooked. What truly sets him apart is his attention to detail and commitment to quality. He is honest and reliable which I think is very hard to find these days and reasonably priced! Also available to answer all my questions concerns. You will not find a better contractor. I know as I have been working in the new construction industry for over 10 years now. Give Fred a call, you will not be disappointed."

"Sergio, did a fantastic job on the remodel of my bathroom and fixing what he found during the remodel of the bathroom. He found out that I had a leak under the toilet, which had been an ongoing problem, that no one was aware of. And because it was found on a Saturday and I have only one bathroom, he made sure I had at least a toilet to use!! I would recommend Sergio and his company, Southern Bright Star Construction to anyone to have work done!"

"I have had two projects that I chose Vicente Gonzales, owner of J.B. Paint & Drywall Corp. The first was a roof leak that created some serious rework to our staircase. He did a super job. The second job was an interior painting project. We had rented the home for 12 years and it was clearly in need of repairs of the walls. The house now look brand new. Vicente is easy to work with, he and his team are craftsmen at what they do. They work hard, get the job done and offer very reasonable pricing. I will certainly continue to utilize J. B. Paint & Drywall for all of our painting and drywall needs."

Hi, I’m Taylor, a detail-oriented cleaner who believes a tidy space changes everything. I specialize in turning chaos into calm, leaving every room fresh, organized, and sparkling. Reliable service, real results, and respect for your space, that’s my promise.
Ask the following questions to make sure you know what’s involved and that you’ve hired a good team:
Is your company licensed, bonded, and insured?
What is the best tile size for my project?
What fire rating do my ceiling tiles need?
How long will it take to install the drop ceiling?
What is the height of the finished drop ceiling?
Most residential building codes require a minimum ceiling height of 7.5 feet from the floor to the finished drop ceiling, ensuring adequate headroom and safety compliance. Since requirements can vary by location, consult your local code enforcement office or a professional installer to confirm the specific clearance needed for your project.
Installing a drop ceiling results in a loss of ceiling height ranging from 3 inches to 8 inches. The exact amount depends on factors like the size of the fixtures above, such as ductwork or lighting, and the manufacturer's recommendations for installation. Local building codes also dictate minimum ceiling heights, so it's important to consult with a professional installer to determine the optimal drop distance for your specific space.
Installing drywall costs between $1.50 and $3 per square foot for materials, labor, and finishing—significantly less than the $9 to $13 per square foot average for a drop ceiling. While drop ceilings come with a higher initial cost, they offer greater design flexibility, easy access to utility lines, and are simpler and less expensive to repair. To minimize expenses, consider budget-friendly fiberboard panels, though their appearance may be less appealing to some homeowners.
Drop ceilings offer several advantages and disadvantages.
Pros:
Easy to install and repair
Conceal stains, ductwork, and other unsightly elements
Provide quick access to ducts and wiring for maintenance
Available in various styles to suit your design preferences
Cons:
Reduce ceiling height
Tiles may require replacement after a few years
Less sturdy than traditional ceilings
Installation can be more time-consuming than drywall
Removing a drop ceiling costs between $2 and $7 per square foot, which includes disassembling the rail system and removing tiles. Factors such as ceiling size, accessibility, and disposal fees affect the total cost. If you're removing a drywall ceiling, expect costs of $2 to $4 per square foot. Hiring a professional ensures safe removal and proper disposal, preventing damage to underlying structures.
