"This total townhouse renovation greatly exceeded our expectations for quality and workmanship. This house was a challenge as it is 43 years old, and now it looks like a brand new model home. They make sure the project stays on schedule. We left a house key with ARMS Home Improvement, and moved out. They worked on their own and provided detailed photos of progress. They treat your house as if it belongs to them, and do not cut corners on anything. We highly recommend them to others looking for quality work to be done right the first time. We still need some more work to be done, and will contract with them again."

"VKB just remodeled our hallway bath, and they did a great job! Despite being a little hard to get in touch with over the holidays we were able to arrange a time for a quote. Calvin, our designer, was on time and quick. He brought up a couple of options while we were reviewing the project that we hadn't considered yet, gave us a very reasonable estimate, made an appointment for us to meet him at the showroom in Columbia, and was gone in less than 45 minutes. No pressure at all, and we enjoyed his advice and personality. When we met Calvin at the showroom and he presented us with a 3D model of our new bathroom and picked out materials, carrying samples around the showroom to see how it would all look together. It was a very easy process, and he did a good job balancing his recommendations with our style choices. We signed the contract and had an estimated start date in less than 2 hours. Watching him poke in our selections into a PDF document was the only tedious part of the process, but the showroom was comfy and just fine. About 2 weeks later Calvin and our project manager Jason arrived for a walkthrough, and Jason verified that the contract matched our understanding of what they'd be doing. We also went over the things that we were on the hook to provide: paint and hardware for the hallway door. Jason also verified the location of our water cut-off valve, electric panel, and where they'd be able to wash paint brushes, etc. About a week and a half later Jason called with the start date. When that day arrived we met Juan and Wilson, who did the actual work on the bathroom. They put plastic and dropcloths down to protect our floors and cleaned up after themselves every day. Materials were delivered when needed and stored in our garage. Some cuts (wood, tile, etc.) were made there and out by our front porch, and they also did a great job working around the rain the plagued us a few days. We were surprised how fast they went and how well everything turned out. About 5 and a half working days until our bathroom was complete. Jason collected the remaining payments along the way, the first one having been made when we signed the contract at the showroom. As with every project, there were a couple of things that didn't go according to plan. We wanted to tile all the way up the wall around the bathtub but we found that the ceiling wasn't level and it would have turned out less than pretty, so went a little shorter than planned but ended up looking like it was meant to be that way from the beginning. There was a leak in the sink drain, so we called Jason and Juan came back the next day and took care of it. I had to clean up a few places where the paint from the baseboard moulding hit the tile and my OCD couldn't just let it go. BUT the bathroom turned out looking fantastic! VKB left the remaining tile, which we donated to a local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. We were really surprised by how well everything worked together, from the colors to the styles, to how nice everything looks now. Our kids say it's like walking into a hotel bathroom. It feels like we really got some high end components installed for a very reasonable price. In summary, we're going to use them again for our master bathroom."

"We used Willis Builders when we first moved into this house 8 years ago and were extremely satisfied with their work, so we decided to hire them the update our two upstairs bathrooms (along with a couple other minor things around the house). The craftsmanship and efficiency of the project blew me away and I am super happy that I decided to use them again for this project. Naveed and Nelson were fantastic. I was amazed at the long days they spent and how efficient the work was. Naveed came to me with any questions and feedback....and the few small issues with materials were resolved quickly and easily. They are a great team and I would recommend them to anyone for a similar project."

"Chase Remodeling will give you the best quality at the best price in the greater Washington, D.C. area.   In Steven Depollar, the owner, you have an ally who will work with you to put your dreams into reality.  Of all the contractors we interviewed, Steven had the best ideas for a spacious, attractive, and functional kitchen, adding lots of cupboard space without giving a cramped feeling. Through no fault of Chevy Chase Remodeling, our project expanded from an initial remodeling of the kitchen and master bathroom to a complete remodeling of the entire house including rewiring the house, putting in new plumbing, and considerable structural repairs including raising the roof by four inches.  This is a long way of saying that Chevy Chase Remodeling has limitless capacity. Steve has a component crew of craftsmen who are justifiably proud of their work.  Some of the best workmanship is hidden from view in the framing or new beam system to provide structural support.   Throughout the project Steven was
attentive to our needs, worked with us closely, allowed us to choose fixtures, tiles, appliances, we wanted and told us he would make it work.  He turned a 100-year old house into a modern and functional home that we love to show
off.   Finally, Steve is as trustworthy a professional as one can find, always giving a fair price and
continuing to provide support long after the last payment was made.  The quality of the final product is beyond
belief.  We are delighted with the finished product and recommend him highly.s.

FAQs for acoustic ceiling tiles install projects in Damascus, MD

A drop ceiling is a type of secondary ceiling that is dropped down below the actual ceiling of a room, hence the name. It’s made up of ceiling tiles (made of fiberboard, foam, wood, metal, or plastic) supported by a metal grid. The space between the drop ceiling and the structural ceiling can be used to hide wiring, pipes, and HVAC ducts.

Most drop ceiling installations take about two to three days, including the time needed to build the grid frame, install it, and place each ceiling tile properly. Your installation might take more time if you need to modify plumbing, HVAC ducts, or electrical wiring to accommodate the new ceiling.

Most drop ceilings require a clearance of at least three inches from the structural ceiling, though you’ll likely need more than that to make space for pipes, ducts, lights, fans, sprinklers, or wiring. In many places, building codes require a minimum ceiling height of seven feet, which can limit the amount of clearance you’ll have between your drop ceiling and structural ceiling.

Yes, you can paint a drop ceiling, but it’s not always recommended. Painting a drop ceiling can sometimes void your warranty because using improper paint or technique can cause the tiles to sag. Paint can also negatively affect the fire resistance, soundproofing, and light reflection of the panels. Consider these downsides before taking on ceiling painting costs.
