"Rick and Maija Roe are very professional workers and very pleasant. From the first time I tried to contact them to get an estimate for the job until after the job was finished they were quick to respond to all of my inquiries. They always came when they said they would. They did an excellent job repairing nail pops and painting the ceilings throughout our house. Rick and Maija do a fantastic job painting, they are very careful with painting and to take care of their surroundings. they cleaned up everything before they left each day. This has been the best experience I have ever had having workers into my home. I highly recommend them, I am having them come back and paint walls in my house because they did such a great job and were so great to work with."

"Aaron Kwok (sales person) met with us on May 2, 2018 at 5pm. He was on time, very informative, honest and knowledgeable about all aspects of our roofing needs. Aaron discussed the pros of using the entire roof vent instead of just individual vents that do not ventilate your attic space enough. He took photos of our attic ceiling and found (6) 4'x8's that had mold growing. We were shocked to see so much mold after only owing this brand new home for 12 years, (my husband actually checked out the attic mold problem to verify). After we were convinced that DaBella with their Master Elite Program and 50 year warranty was worth the money we were able to select a shingle color that matched our house perfectly. Aaron met with us a second time (on time) to sign papers and get reasonable financing. The roofing contractors contacted us a week after and set up our installation. The roofers, George and Raul have worked steadily for 3 days and are very courteous and professional. They are careful not to leave a big mess in our yard. The entire roof should be complete in another day. We are comfortable with their workmanship, the DaBella roof shingle and the fifty year warranty. The whole team has been very professional. I'm attaching photos of work accomplished thus far. I will surely attach the finished roof photo upon completion."

"The JCR crew did an excellent job repairing the structural pieces and replacing my 35yr old roof. The workmanship and products were all high quality and Jose took the time to explain all my questions. I recommend them to anyone needing work and will definitely use them again for my construction needs."

"     In order to complete to layout design I submitted a drawing of the room as well as a series of photos.  The website for Homemade design has a questionaire what helps define your overall tastes in design.  I joined Pinterest and started boards for furniture, lighting, bookshelves which were reviewed.  Homemade design comes to New York periodically to meet with clients not in the Boston area and this gave us a chance to meet and select furniture and upholstery at the New York Design center.  This is an extra charge but well worth it since I was completely overwhelmed.  They were extremely patient and guided me through the process.  At one point I decided to move the television which turned out to be a bad idea -- they explained why it would not worked and I concurred competely after I understood the reasons.  So, they are not afraid to tell you if you going down the wrong road. I live in a New York City townhouse and forget that I do not have a whol lot of space even though my house is huge for NYC. So, I had to be told how to "scale" everything to the space we had to work with, which was helpful
I purchased the service several months ago but was not ready to actually decide on the actual purchases until recently. So, the delay in completion is because of my schedule.  I now hope to finish everything by September.

FAQs for acoustic ceiling tiles install projects in Hood River, OR

Ask the following questions to make sure you know what’s involved and that you’ve hired a good team:

  • Is your company licensed, bonded, and insured?

  • What is the best tile size for my project?

  • What fire rating do my ceiling tiles need?

  • How long will it take to install the drop ceiling?

  • What is the height of the finished drop ceiling?

Most residential building codes require a minimum ceiling height of 7.5 feet from the floor to the finished drop ceiling, ensuring adequate headroom and safety compliance. Since requirements can vary by location, consult your local code enforcement office or a professional installer to confirm the specific clearance needed for your project.

Installing a drop ceiling results in a loss of ceiling height ranging from 3 inches to 8 inches. The exact amount depends on factors like the size of the fixtures above, such as ductwork or lighting, and the manufacturer's recommendations for installation. Local building codes also dictate minimum ceiling heights, so it's important to consult with a professional installer to determine the optimal drop distance for your specific space.

Installing drywall costs between $1.50 and $3 per square foot for materials, labor, and finishing—significantly less than the $9 to $13 per square foot average for a drop ceiling. While drop ceilings come with a higher initial cost, they offer greater design flexibility, easy access to utility lines, and are simpler and less expensive to repair. To minimize expenses, consider budget-friendly fiberboard panels, though their appearance may be less appealing to some homeowners.

Drop ceilings offer several advantages and disadvantages.

Pros:

  • Easy to install and repair

  • Conceal stains, ductwork, and other unsightly elements

  • Provide quick access to ducts and wiring for maintenance

  • Available in various styles to suit your design preferences

Cons:

  • Reduce ceiling height

  • Tiles may require replacement after a few years

  • Less sturdy than traditional ceilings

  • Installation can be more time-consuming than drywall

Removing a drop ceiling costs between $2 and $7 per square foot, which includes disassembling the rail system and removing tiles. Factors such as ceiling size, accessibility, and disposal fees affect the total cost. If you're removing a drywall ceiling, expect costs of $2 to $4 per square foot. Hiring a professional ensures safe removal and proper disposal, preventing damage to underlying structures.
