"Fred was outstanding. We started our home renovation by converting part of a bonus room into a bedroom with 2 closets. Then, he converted a storage closet into a full bathroom by bringing plumbing up into our top floor. We were so pleased with that project, we asked him to do a complete kitchen remodel and replaced the floors in our first floor. Fred was efficient and affordable. His work turned out great and he offered expertise and knowledge along the way to make sure we were happy with the finished product. Our family feels like we have a brand new home thanks to Fred!"

"Juan did excellent work repairing a 2.5 x 4.5 foot area of drywall in my kitchen ceiling above a cooktop. He was responsive to my texted questions and requests. He was thoughtful, professional, confident on the job and kept my floors and kitchen surfaces protected, cleaned up everything really well."

"Robert was on time and explained in detail what would need to be done. Robert and his assistant did a great job completing a skim coat on my plaster walls and ceiling, and I would hire them again."

"I recently purchased an historic 1902 home in downtown, many of the rooms had been "repaired" over the years by shoddy contractors. Houston knew exactly how to bring the house back to life! Not only did help me choose a great wallpaper that looks unbelievable, he repaired 100 years or more of quick repaint work on the trim as well as repaired the original plaster walls that were crumbling in certain areas. He gets 6 out of 5 stars if you ask me!"

FAQs for acoustic ceiling tiles install projects in La Vergne, TN

A drop ceiling is a type of secondary ceiling that is dropped down below the actual ceiling of a room, hence the name. It’s made up of ceiling tiles (made of fiberboard, foam, wood, metal, or plastic) supported by a metal grid. The space between the drop ceiling and the structural ceiling can be used to hide wiring, pipes, and HVAC ducts.

Most drop ceiling installations take about two to three days, including the time needed to build the grid frame, install it, and place each ceiling tile properly. Your installation might take more time if you need to modify plumbing, HVAC ducts, or electrical wiring to accommodate the new ceiling.

Most drop ceilings require a clearance of at least three inches from the structural ceiling, though you’ll likely need more than that to make space for pipes, ducts, lights, fans, sprinklers, or wiring. In many places, building codes require a minimum ceiling height of seven feet, which can limit the amount of clearance you’ll have between your drop ceiling and structural ceiling.

Yes, you can paint a drop ceiling, but it’s not always recommended. Painting a drop ceiling can sometimes void your warranty because using improper paint or technique can cause the tiles to sag. Paint can also negatively affect the fire resistance, soundproofing, and light reflection of the panels. Consider these downsides before taking on ceiling painting costs.
