Customers say: Quality work

"Jason is awesome! I have worked with a couple drywall companies for some home projects in the past and he is the best. Jason gave me a very fair price, he shows up when he says he will, he works hard every day, he stays committed to the project and he does very professional work! I had him hang drywall in my basement which includes walls and ceiling and is about 600 square feet. He and one of his laborers had it hung in less than two days! Jason does all the finishing himself and he does a great job. The finishing is taking longer in the basement because of the humidity and we need to allow time for it to dry, but as soon as its dry he is at my house doing more skimming. He is a pro at his craft and I could not be happier. I also want to point out that he cleans up daily which is a big deal to me. I masked the entire floor myself with paper to ease the clean up afterwards but he sweeps and picks up every day. If you are looking for a great drywaller I would highly recommend Jason! I will definitely be using Jason again for future drywall projects and I will be recommending him to my friends and family. I am a very satisfied customer!"

"Their service was great. After they completed the work, we noticed the ceiling work was not done to our satisfaction. We called them and they came back to fix it. Overall, we were satisfied with the work. There was that minor issue but they resolved it. Their price seemed the most reasonable compared to other companies we looked into. They were responsive and professional."

"Actual installation took 1 day, but estimate, scheduling and final payment took almost 2 months. Gutter guards could not be installed as per factory instructions because of problems with existing drip rail, but were installed with modifications. New gutters tended to overflow where roof valley met gutter, but this was corrected later with the addition of valley splash shields. One unpleasant surprise was the subcontracting of gutter installation by a local company that we had had previous dealing with, who argued with us about desired modifications. However, Scott was very involved, and resolved all issues, including adjusting the price based on and quot;pain and sufferingand quot;. Scott was excellent and receptive to what we had to say, as well as being easy to get along with.
Suggestion to customers: specify work to be performed by their own crew, not sublet.

FAQs for acoustic ceiling tiles install projects in Unionville, MI

Ask the following questions to make sure you know what’s involved and that you’ve hired a good team:

  • Is your company licensed, bonded, and insured?

  • What is the best tile size for my project?

  • What fire rating do my ceiling tiles need?

  • How long will it take to install the drop ceiling?

  • What is the height of the finished drop ceiling?

Most residential building codes require a minimum ceiling height of 7.5 feet from the floor to the finished drop ceiling, ensuring adequate headroom and safety compliance. Since requirements can vary by location, consult your local code enforcement office or a professional installer to confirm the specific clearance needed for your project.

Installing a drop ceiling results in a loss of ceiling height ranging from 3 inches to 8 inches. The exact amount depends on factors like the size of the fixtures above, such as ductwork or lighting, and the manufacturer's recommendations for installation. Local building codes also dictate minimum ceiling heights, so it's important to consult with a professional installer to determine the optimal drop distance for your specific space.

Installing drywall costs between $1.50 and $3 per square foot for materials, labor, and finishing—significantly less than the $9 to $13 per square foot average for a drop ceiling. While drop ceilings come with a higher initial cost, they offer greater design flexibility, easy access to utility lines, and are simpler and less expensive to repair. To minimize expenses, consider budget-friendly fiberboard panels, though their appearance may be less appealing to some homeowners.

Drop ceilings offer several advantages and disadvantages.

Pros:

  • Easy to install and repair

  • Conceal stains, ductwork, and other unsightly elements

  • Provide quick access to ducts and wiring for maintenance

  • Available in various styles to suit your design preferences

Cons:

  • Reduce ceiling height

  • Tiles may require replacement after a few years

  • Less sturdy than traditional ceilings

  • Installation can be more time-consuming than drywall

Removing a drop ceiling costs between $2 and $7 per square foot, which includes disassembling the rail system and removing tiles. Factors such as ceiling size, accessibility, and disposal fees affect the total cost. If you're removing a drywall ceiling, expect costs of $2 to $4 per square foot. Hiring a professional ensures safe removal and proper disposal, preventing damage to underlying structures.
