"I hired Master Plastering to replace and paint a water damaged entryway ceiling. A representative came to my home, took pictures of the ceiling, made measurements, and emailed an estimated within an hour. The price quote was detailed and quite reasonable. A week later, a plastering crew arrived and pulled down the damaged ceiling, put up blue board, and skim coated the entire ceiling in a half day. Three days later, a paint crew arrived to prime and paint the new ceiling, again in about a half day. My wife and I very pleased with the work done. "When we started our plan of remodeling, the first thing we did was the complete roof replacement including kitchen vent & duct pipe installation to the roof, and new installation of attic ventilation. MMP did not only completed it just as agreed but also very efficiently. The crews were friendly, professional, and careful. The jobs were carefully managed and implemented effectively. I was impressed by Matt, who is the manager, and he does an outstanding job in managing the crews and the progress of the situation, and the communication was clear and always to the point. We then moved to initiate a search for a contractor of two bathrooms remodeling after completing the roof and attic vent, MMP was one of the many candidates. Matt has had not only the best idea and proposals but also shown an impressive & professional sense of evaluating the project accurately, including the possible structural modification as well as a competitive estimate of the cost of the build. His proposal included a rebuild of a wall of the bathroom to expand another one adjacent to it. Matt accepted to use my schematic design image (made with a software tool) and a spreadsheet list of the fixtures that I created - as many as fifty items including TOTO, Grohe, American Standard, Panasonic, and IKEA - to start the job (later changed some of them due to local plumbing code compliance) After beginning the bathroom remodel project, Matt shared what jobs will be done with us timely and efficiently via text so that we feel comfortable enough in knowing what is going on while living in the house of dust & noise from remodeling. The crews, Zen and Mark, were very courteous, extensively experienced, reliable, and friendly with excellent communication, sometimes with songs of 80s rock music. They ask me when more precise specifications are needed and notified me when they feel advance notifications are required. When a change is necessary due to inspection, they informed me and clarified what and why. I have never felt uncomfortable in living together with the remodel job which has lasted over four months. The completed two bathrooms were stunning, just as I imagined. Matt, Zen, and Mark have proved their strong & thoughtful expertise and lived up with my request patiently until completion. Great job. "We hired Bertie Walsh to re-do our garage ceiling which had been incorrectly repaired by a different contractor (not a contractor found on Angie's List).  Bertie was a godsend because after he removed the ceiling he pointed out to us that the previous contractor had failed to connect the blue board to the joist (not sure if that's the right word) and there also wasn't any strapping holding it to the subsurface, which would have caused it to eventually bow out.  Bertie put a new section of ceiling up and finished it with plaster and did a remarkable job matching the existing ceiling.

Bertie is quiet and hard working.  No fluff with this guy.  He's an honest, no-nonsense guy who will give you a very reasonable quote, will show up when he says he will, and then quietly and diligently do the work.  He cleaned up well after the work was completed.  I found myself looking for other things that needed plastering or handiwork around the house just so we could hire him again.  Yep, he is that good!

"The house (three stories) had several layers of old paint, some peeling, some areas were sanded a few years back; older paint layers contained lead.  We were looking for a company that was trained in removing lead paint safely, using Hepa filter vacuum as needed. Carlos provided us with a detailed estimate that included completely shaving two sides of the house and spot sanding the front where necessary (the back has siding).  All three sides were primed and painted, the shutters, window trims and the garage door were painted in a different color.  The windows were sealed around the frames.  Everything happened within the time frame proposed with no problems. In the future I would however have this kind of work done either very early in the spring or late in the fall to protect the trees and plant around the house somewhat.
