"Antonio is friendly and knowledgeable with block and concrete. He is a great communicator and showed upon time when he said he would. He and his crew did an excellent job removing an old timber retaining wall and replacing it with block. He listened to what I wanted and provided a quote to match. We even added some work and he was able to easily add what we wanted to make the wall continuous and look professionally installed. He also poured a concrete step on our back patio. We highly recommend him for retaining walls and concrete work big and small."

"I was under the false assumption that me only option was to replace my driveway and got several bids to do just that. VERY EXPENSIVE! Theo placed a bid on the work and explained that my driveway did not need to be replaced and could be repaired to use for years to come with the right repairs. His pricing was very fair, and he worked hard getting everything done right. It took several days to complete the work, but he did a great job. He is very knowledgeable and personable. I enjoyed interacting with him. I would highly recommend Theo and Concrete Repair Experts for any concrete repair needs. I would call Theo before deciding to spend lots of money replacing what might be expertly repaired."

"Knew his business and did good work efficiently. Communication of timing was lacking but was not a problem for my project. I would use him again as first choice of masonry work."

"Our project was a patio extension... taking it from 10'x12' to 20'x12'. M&A Concrete was not able to schedule the work for several weeks, but once they go to it the work was completed in one afternoon. We couldn't be happier!"

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
