"This was a very enjoyable small concrete project for an air conditioning compressor pad. Rome did an excellent job with sizing, then fabricating and pouring the concrete. The resultant pad looks very good! Highly recommended contractor!"

"We really enjoyed working with Mark and Architectural Concrete. Mark came out soon after I contacted him to look at the project. He submitted a bid that night and made a few adjustments at my request, such as letting me know the price difference if we did the demo work ourselves and also adding a little more square footage when we adjusted the shape of the path from the original curving design to a more angular, modern look. He also left materials about different stamp patters and dye color options.
We hired the company to do the work and set a date for just after Christmas. We decided to do the demo work and Mark even recommended a company to us (which we ended up using) that would deliver and pick up a dumpster to put all the old asphalt and concrete into. The crew showed up on the agreed-upon day to build the forms. Due to weather (it was below freezing at night) the concrete work was delayed for a week or so but Mark kept me updated on the timeline.
When the weather conditions were right - dry and not too cold - the crew was back out there and did a terrific job! They let the concrete cure for a few days then came back to seal it. The walkway looks great, they did a good job of cleaning up, the crew was friendly. Our new driveway isn't anything fancy but it's so nice and smooth and is a HUGE improvement over the old asphalt.
We were very happy with Architectural Concrete and have shared their info with a few admiring neighbors already!

"Garret provided a fast quote for my project which was very reasonably priced. He took time to answer my questions with fast turnaround for responses. His availability was also very quick, and I wanted my project done as soon as possible to meet other deadlines. Garret and Larry showed up on time and were very courteous and professional, and respectful of my property in their prep work and during the concrete pour. They both answered my questions and explained the project details, along with follow-up that was required. I highly recommend Northwest Concrete Cutting for anyone needing a concrete pour."

"John John Concrete did a fantastic job, was responsive, from first quote to completion of project was about 2 weeks. They were incredibly fast. Price was so much better than any quotes I got from other contractors, I didn’t even have to negotiate. Will be using them again on our next concrete project. Highly recommend."

"Corrected a uneven concrete walkway. Because of the height difference in my concrete walkway it was a dangerous tripping hazard. I am very happy with their work. I highly recommend them!"

"Boyd from Center Construction was very easy to communicate and work with through the entire process and kept me informed from start to finish. He removed our old patio and buit us a much larger concrete patio as well as a new walkway around the side of the house at a competitive price, and I intend on hiring him for any future concrete projects I need done."

"Excellent work. Our retaining wall collapsed and Manuel and his crew rebuilt it. They also built a new fence and poured a 10x10 concrete platform in our yard so we can place a shed. From the beginning, the whole team was very professional and responsive. They showed up when they said they would, kept me up-to-date, were very honest, and always available to talk on the phone when I had questions."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Preston, WA

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
