"If you're looking to install pavers, call Bosstones - if you are going to use concrete, would rather have pavers but think you can't afford it, call Bosstones. I had a 140' long heavily cracked concrete driveway. Thanks to Marcelo and his band of pleasant craftsmen, I now have a beautiful pavered driveway which is the envy of my neighborhood, for the same cost as new concrete! Marcelo is a true master of his trade, loves what he does, and treats his work as a reflection of his character. In an economy of cost cutting and shoddy workmanship, he does more than you'd bargained for because he stands by it. I give this company my highest recommendation."

"This contractor was able to pour the concrete slabs for me as well as build a 30 x 26’ garage. Everything was to our standards and took time, but it came out great matching her house. The entire crew and management was very respectful and kind. I plan on using them again in the future for my future projects, pouring concrete and gazebo patio build."

"Shannon and his crew were very professional. Shannon got back with me promptly and was extremely knowledgeable about the different types of plants I asked about. He came the next day to give me a quote. After I gave a deposit Shannon and his team came out the next week to get started. They took out all the dead grass and plants, fixed my irrigation and planted all my new plants. I decided I wanted rocks instead of bark or mulch. After this was finished they ripped out one of my driveways and had the new concrete poured the same day. They did my second driveway the next day. Once this was completed they redid my brick pavers and sealed them. Shannon was wonderful throughout this whole process. He made himself available whenever I had a question. He made my yard beautiful. I would highly recommend him and his crew."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
