"Bernard is a very personal, friendly and competent contractor. His company removed my old pad and replaced it with a new concrete pad. “I love it!! “. He responded to my inquiry immediately, schedule and completed my job as promised, and for the price quoted. No surprises! I highly recommend his company."

"I was disappointed that the concrete slab didnâ t raise all the way. I was warned by the salesman that this could happen. The people who did the work said to wait a few months and they will try again under warranty."

"Had to email to find out if when I was one their schedule. Was given a two day window but they got behind and did not come either day. I emailed again and was given another date. They arrived late in the day and completed the aeration and seeding. Then came back the next morning to transplant and mulch. I had to contact them again to find out when they were going to return to complete the work. Will have to wait to see if the grass comes up."

"Larry and his guys did a truly excellent job replacing our front concrete sidewalks with brick to match our house. Our concrete sidewalks were old, crumbling, and crooked, and our new brick sidewalk really makes our house look so much more welcoming! He's dependable and does high-quality work. I recommend him without reservation!"

"Ciro and his crew did a superb job installing our stamped concrete sidewalk, and we are very pleased with the results. They were prompt, worked hard when they got here, and completed the project on time--even a few hours earlier than predicted! Ciro was easy to work with and was quite flexible and willing to make adjustments that we requested when the forms were being installed. The results are beautiful! They also took pains to cover surrounding landscape, as we requested, to prevent any concrete splatter from getting on rocks and plants or our driveway--much appreciated! We're thankful that Ciro recommended installing a pipe in one spot under the sidewalk where water could have accumulated. We know that won't be a problem now. Ciro and his team took pains to do precision work, and they cleaned up everything after they were done. My wife and I highly recommend Ciro and Chris Concrete LLC for any stamped concrete work you may need to have done."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
