"We recently purchased our home and the driveway had not been taken care of for many years. We called the driveway lady and had her come out to repair and coat our 3,000 square foot asphalt driveway. She was amazing, arrived on time and completely went over the job in detail before she even started the work. She took the time to prep all areas and repaired those areas that could cause problems in the future. She was very professional, courteous, and really went above and beyond for us. We are overjoyed with the end result. It looks like a brand-new driveway and I know our home value increased. It's nice to know that there are still quality people out there that take pride in their work. Thank you again!"

"Hired them for 3 projects I have installed this basement waterproofing solution in 2 homes. System speaks for itself. Nothing better on the market. Work was first rate. Expectations were presented prior to the project. Details on what would happen and how the project would go. Would not hesitate to use again ERV installed New basement egress. This project did not go as planned, but not at the fault of basement systems. Was originally supposed to get a BILCO door but due to unforseen issues, that was not able to happen. They ended up installing a new staircase from my basement to ground level. Work was first rate and ended up better than a bilco door. Company re landscaped and everything is as it was. All work performed was top notch and no issues on anything they have done"

"J&E Masonry completed a stone wall repair as well as a small concrete entrance repair for me, both with outstanding effort in all aspects related. Time to come out after initial contact, view desired work and provide an estimate was remarkable. Start dates were provided and time frames for completion maintained. Work was meticulous and cleanup exceptional. Thank you Edgar and Micheal-recommend without reservation."

"Let me start by saying I have dealt with alot of contracting companies and BQ Basement Systens is the best one I ever worked with. From the moment I made the appt until the project was finished they were nothing but professional. Brian and the crew were knowledgeable, easy to work with and answered every question I had regarding my concrete stabilization project. I had a complex problem and they handled it with ease. How would I rate them from 1-10? I would give them a rating of 100. My husband and I are extremely pleased with their service and highly recommend them for a concrete lift project."

"Awesomely. Very happy. The new and replacement plantings are very nice. Also, those concrete slabs have been there since house purchased over 30 years ago. Hadn't even planned to ask about that but since I wanted two of the bushes planted in that area I asked just for the heck of it . I was surprised when Pierce said they can get them out of there. Will definitely use again."

"Outdoor Assets did a great job. We needed a concrete slab for our garage and the owner educated me on the process. They completed the concrete slab before the necessary completion date and were able to work with our budget, as well. The company was highly organized, very professional and always cleaned up their work area at the end of the day. I would highly recommend using Outdoor Assets for any concrete and masonry work!"

"We had our back step replaced as it was cracking. They came out, centered the step on the door, and added a hand rail. Job was performed as advertised. Would defintely use again for any concrete work."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
