"After firing the original contractor for non performance I retained Lou Sullivan of Carolina Decorative Concrete to clean up the mess left behind and install a new patio pretty much from scratch. Lou is personable, easy to work with, and immediately took charge of the project, indicating where the first contractor was going to make serious technical errors if we had followed the original plan. "Highly recommended!  I contracted with Brick Solutions owner, Joe Walls, to have a badly damaged concrete driveway replaced with brick pavers.  I had previously gotten estimates for replacing the driveway with new concrete but I was concerned about damaging the roots of a very old tulip poplar tree adjacent to the driveway.  When the concrete contractor informed
me if he didn?t cut the roots he couldn?t guarantee the concrete but if he did cut the roots he could not guarantee the tree would survive, I decided to go with brick.
Joe said he could do the driveway without damaging the roots.  He broke up the old concrete with a jackhammer rather than bringing in heavy equipment.  We consulted with an arborist who told Joe what could or could not be cut.  When our plan to save a portion of the old concrete did not work out because it was too cracked Joe volunteered to break it up and replace it
with brick at no extra charge.  He worked carefully, followed all out suggestions, and managed to give us a smooth brick
driveway that looks much better than what we had before.
In short, Brick Solutions did a great job for a reasonable price and it was pleasure to work with Joe.

"First of all, I highly recommend Oswald Concrete Services. I had originally hire another concrete contractor to do repairs of our driveway. He started the job and after four weeks of not replying to email, voicemail, text and phone calls to get him to complete the job. I fired him. We then found Vincent Oswald on HomeAdvisor and hired him. He didn't ask for any upfront money, showed up on time and worked hard when on the job. I feel a bit sorry for him because he poured the first three loads of concrete and I've never seen concrete set up (dry) as quickly as this did. As hard as he works, Vincent couldn't get the concrete properly finished before it was too dry. He wound up having to cut a large section of the dry concrete out and do some detailed cosmetic repairs to the other areas. I know Vincent lost money on the job but I applaud his credibility and ethics. He stayed with the job, got it looking very good was professional and just plain refreshing to work with. In an age when many contractors would have cut-and-run to avoid loosing money. He stuck with the job and truly earned my respect and future business."
