"Skimped on quality of retaining wall, not burying one layer of block in some sections. As a result, There are five gaps in the versilock wall on the bottom. I have reached out to him for 6 months to deal with this issue and have been met with delays and no response.
Was rushed in pouring concrete. Some areas are not to code, i.e., proper depth. Corner of pour cracked two months after completion in December 2014. Contacted him immediately to have it corrected in the spring of 2015. Once again, was met with delays, excuses and the last two months no response.
I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

"They did an excellent job on both the steps and the wall. This job was done on a rental property that I own and they came out and removed the old steps and wall and replaced will all new concrete. The steps were done to my request and even included a side wall. My tenants are thrilled with their new steps and wall. all my tenants and neighbors have told me what a nice job that they did on them. Professional company that really helped me out by fitting me into their schedule during the busiest time of the year. I will definitely call them on my next project."

"Wow! Rick is the best! He is the most responsive contractor I've ever seen, answering phone calls and messages and arriving promptly to begin the work just when he said he would! I had gotten multiple quotes for this job and he was the only one to really stand there and think about how it would look and any problems that they might run into. He had a crew of 5 that worked 6 days on removing an old rotten wood retaining wall, cutting it up and disposing of it, excavating a massive hill to add more flat space to the yard, and putting up two retaining walls with french drains. The crew arrived very early each day but were not loud, waiting until well into the morning to begin louder tasks like cutting the blocks. They did everything so beautifully and skillfully; my yard is totally transformed. I would definitely hire them again for any future needs! I could not be any happier with the outcome of the project! "Martin, Brandon, and Tony produced great results in terms of the Carbon Armor, Power Braces, drainage, and sump pump installation, and they did it all in two days in the middle of Winter, so I appreciate their dedication and workmanship. HOWEVER, there were a few things I was not thrilled about after all was said and done: First, they either forgot bags for their dust collection system or were having some other issue with it, which rendered it essentially useless. Rather than get bags from the hardware store or fix the issue, they continued on as normal, causing not only the garage, but the entire house to be filled with concrete dust. I was working from home that day and put on a mask when I noticed visibility decrease in my office. After the job was finished, my wife put all the exposed linens and clothes through the wash and had to "deep-clean" the house to remove the film of dust that settled onto everything. Second, they didn't use any sort of concrete saw to remove the old concrete for the drainage, just a jackhammer, so the line between the old and new concrete just does not look good. I hope to eventually redo the whole floor, anyway, so it's not the end of the world, but would have been nice to have straight lines in the meantime. Third, after they left, I noticed that the ceiling-mounted extension cord reel was unwound and hanging down a few feet, but I couldn't get it to wind back up. After taking it apart to fix it, I found that the cable was completely destroyed with wire actually exposed in some spots. I asked one of them about this and they said they never unwound it that far, so it couldn't have been their fault, but the security camera footage shows one of them unwinding it all the way, letting it wind up as fast as possible, getting it stuck, and then yanking on it until it shot sparks out! No wonder the GFCI was tripped! I had to throw that reel away, buy a new one, and install it. Fourth, I had to replace the handle on my garden hose spigot after they left. I'm guessing they didn't realize it was a quarter-turn valve and tried to open it past a quarter turn, stripping the stoppers on it. Not expensive to replace, but still annoying and I wish they would have mentioned it. Fifth, I was holding off on writing this review until I had a chance to call them and chat about these things, but was pleasantly surprised when THEY called ME to follow up before I got around to it! Unfortunately, I think the person on the phone was just hoping for an, "Everything is great," so she forwarded me to someone's voicemail to explain my complaints. That person never called me back, so I'm assuming that voicemail is essentially the trashcan labeled "Comment Box". Anyway, all the new hardware appears to be installed pretty well, the drainage and sump pump are working nicely, and I'm optimistic about the long-term results of it all the Carbon Armor and Power Braces, but there was certainly room for improvement regarding the job as a whole."

"Was hired to dig up and replace concrete patio...was told there would be no 'bird baths' puddles...needless to say the slab right outside the door will be an ice rink come winter...water does not drain away from the house...this he was told about...never come back to seal and patio had 'boogers' as he called it in the water drainage joints....was called multiple times and never come to fix...made quite a mess at our window well...we built a cover with screen to hide...we were at the point of seeing no integrity and taking the loss and move on...THEN...discovered a hole ...yes a hole.... again he was called said he would come and yet once again ...no call no show....should have went with the first red flag...his FIRST cancellation call to come and look at the job....actually said he wanted to go swimming...too bad...we kept giving him chance after chance to make things right"

"Mark is a chimney wizard! My chimney looks brand new. He replaced the crown, pretty much had to tear off and rebuild the top few rows of brick, replaced damaged bricks elsewhere, and repointed. His workmanship and pricing can’t be touched! He also took care in making sure the job site was left as it was when he started. I strongly recommend Mark for any of your masonry needs!"
