Customers say: Quality work

"A&D Withum concrete did a fantastic job. Crew were very professional and went the extra mile to make sure it was a job well done including reconnecting my invisible fence and coming back to put sealing over the exposed aggregate concrete he did for me. I’ve had so many compliments from neighbors too so very happy and at a great price. You can tell Andy, the owner, cares about a quality job and is very conscientious. Couldn’t be happier!"

"I can't recommend Concrete Revival enough. Mr. Gorsceac is not just a contractor; he's an artist. Our new concrete is absolutely beautiful, with a perfect finish. Mr. Gorsceac and his team went the extra mile to ensure we were happy, including applying a special protective seal coat to make sure their beautiful work was well-protected. It's that kind of thoughtful, high-quality service that makes me want to tell everyone. If you want the job done right by someone who truly cares, Mr. Gorsceac is the person to call."

"Once scheduled everything proceeded as planned.  Professional and timely responses to questions. Gave much more clear, than competitors, picture of what would be done, what materials would be used, layout of concrete sections (we had input into this and it turned out great), and what would happen on each day.  I also believed that they poured a thicker pour than any of the other competitors jobs that I have seen in the area.  As of today, less than a year after the job was done, I would highly recommend Christopher Brothers for concrete work. I guess the final test would be "How long will driveway and sidewalk hold up ?"

"Removed old cracked concrete driveway, set proper new stone foundation, added proper thick asphalt layer and finished it nicely. Took 2 days due to tool damage otherwise it would have been all done in single day. Explained how long not to drive or park ,water on hot days, fillings top soil on borders etc. Also did parallel project of French drain on my backyard to divert run down water from hill behind my home to away from driveway for additional agreed cost. All work was excellent quality. Good team. Neighbor also gave them project for resurfacing which seemed to complete quickly too on same day in parallel with same equipment and team."

"Tim and a helper did a great job on our project leveling multiple areas where our concrete had settled. They even power-washed our driveway. Tim provided good communication throughout the project and provided a fair price. I recommend Big Bear Concrete Leveling."

"I needed 70 feet of fencing and a new gate. Frank responded very quickly to my initial phone call and was punctual to evaluate the job and discuss options. We discussed different types and fence design. He listened to me about my questions and concerns and offered a solution not usually found in typical catalogs. We had to wait until a neighbor completed some adjacent construction before Frank could order the material which took several weeks. He kept me informed of where he was in the process at all times. When the weather became more conducive for pouring the concrete he and his crew came to put in the posts and returned another day to put up the fence. He cleaned up after himself each day. Frank was always professional, informative, kept me informed of his timetable, was punctual when he stated he would be on the property and was a true team player. He is one of the best contractors I have ever dealt with. I highly recommend him and would not hesitate to use him again"

FAQs for concrete work projects in Canonsburg, PA

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
