"Very well, our home is more leak proof / water tight than when we bought it some 30 years ago... and is anticipated to remain so for another 30+ years. All the mentioned work occurred during 3 visits spread across some 18 months; but none of the visits required more than a single day to complete. Work was conveniently scheduled and the worker(s) always arrived on time; if not 15 minutes early. A year after our last work was done (the poly-jacking), The Real Seal, at my request but at no charge, even sent out a technician to replace/redo some concrete plugs in those poly-jack holes that had popped out probably due to outdoor temperature swings."

"Done-Rite did an asphalt & concrete install in our parking lot and did a fantastic job. Their pricing was conpetitive and the quality of their work exceeded our expectations. They were able to work within our scheduling requirements so we did not have to interupt our normal business. Nick was on site to make sure they did everything we asked and answer any questions we had. It's great a find a company that does what they promise, with excellent quality work. We would hearrtily recommend them, and expect to have them back for future projects."

"We are in the middle of rehabbing our new, older home and have done so 3 times with prior houses. We have experience with contractors and know a quality and easy to work with co when we see them. After talking with several companies we chose to work with Frank and the 3D team. WOW are we happy with our decision. 3D ranks up there as one of the best experiences we have had. Our job included removal of a 30 year old concrete patio that had settled and tilted toward the foundation, causing water issues in the basement. 3D first removed the old patio (including 4 stoops), regraded and buried the downspouts. The final results of the new patio are even more beautiful than they looked on the 3D renderings. We can't say enough about how easy it was to work with Frank, who was very helpful in making design decisions and very flexible when we made a few modifications / requests for extras along the way. Francisco and the team on site were great and very easy to work with. We will be doing more work with 3D as our renovation will eventually call for a driveway and new sidewalks."

"These guys are amazing! They took a concrete pad, cut it in half and raised one section to create a step. This allowed for easy entry into our building instead of a high stair. Secondly, they leveled a 50 foot long span of sidewalk where each section tipped a different direction. It was a mess and they made it smooth and hazard free."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Lincolnshire, IL

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
