The work was delayed by weather, but was quickly rescheduled. They completely removed the original concrete driveway, installed a bed of stone, and a steel framework. The following day, they installed, graded (so water runs off to the street), and broom textured the driveway. They were respectful of the plants around the driveway. We scheduled the work, and had the carpet removed. Once removed, it was apparent to the crew that showed up that the work didn’t need to be done. They quickly reassessed and were honest with me about the reassessment. Their crew was already on site and they could have easily just done the work and billed us. They had a structural engineer contact us to follow up and do a formal reassessment of what work needs to be done. Their crew chief attended the engineer’s assessment to make sure they understood. Their estimators and crew were friendly, honest, and knowledgeable. I paid their crew (already on site) to tear apart some wall to make sure we completed the inspection, but no additional work needed to be done. "I was extremely satisfied with the professional conduct of this job. I had carefully designed the structure of the shed. It was important that all the dimensions of the slab be met accurately and that the 6 posts be placed precisely and perfectly vertical. They were. Working with Jaime was very satisfying as we had numerous discussions about details as the job progressed. I provided some large salvage planks from the old shed that could be used to build forms, and he provided several significant suggestions to improve the end result. The slab was on a slight slope. He provided much deeper concrete on the downhill side to anchor the slab and resist underwash. He provided a large footer under each post before the main concrete pour, because the posts were going to carry the entire weight of the roof. I would not have thought to do that. This is the value of hiring an experienced contractor. The shed has been completed and the first delivery of sawdust has been made. The slabs stood up to the significant weight of the delivery truck as can be seen in my pictures."
