"I highly recommend Tom Foley Installations for laminate countertop installation. I contacted a dozen countertop installers and learned that most of them either donâ t install laminate countertops or have project minimums that made their estimates ridiculously high. Fortunately for me, one of those businesses referred me to another that in turn referred me to Tom Foley. Tom made the drive from Ontario to Montebello to show me samples for my kitchen and provided an estimate on the spot. The cost was more than reasonable and Tom offered to install both the kitchen sink I purchased earlier and a new water supply valve without charging for the additional labor! The job was scheduled to start couple of days later and the job was completed in a day. The installation was perfect and Tom left the house cleaner than it was when he started!"

"Jose arrived on time, and did a fantastic job of setting my island pieces and end panels and resetting cabinets that were not installed properly. I had to have this done so that countertops could be installed the next day. Jose is a professional who is experienced, knowledgeable and efficient. I plan to have him complete the rest of my kitchen and bath project and highly recommend his services."

"called Daniel Barrientos for an estimate fir Quartz countertops. He came to my house with plenty of samples, he started measuring and he gave je a quote . Daniel explained clearly what his price included step by step. He explain what I needed to do to get ready for when he would come in to install. He called me regularly to ask me if I had any questions or concerns. Which I did. He kept close contact with me until the day of service. He arrived on time and completely finished on time. Daniel and his workers even vacuumed and cleaned up after themselves!!! Wow!!! Impressed!!! Daniel explain how to maintain the quartz patiently. I was truly blessed having Daniel as my countertop services provider! He installed my new sink and faucet. Danielâ s business is highly recommended personally from me! Thank you very much Daniel! Your many years of experience is so obvious!"

"OMG! Elana and her crew are amazing! I really appreciate the timely communication. She asked great questions about what we wanted that helped guide us through the process. Her experience with different cabinet designs, materials, and timelines made our kitchen more than we could have imagined. Elana accompanied us to different material stores so we could choose our flooring, tile, and countertop. She helped organize our choices and was able to clearly state the pros and cons of the possibilities. At our 1st meeting she took measurements, showed us cabinet and counter top samples, discussed what we wanted, and returned with a layout and wall drawings. Her awareness of our needs led to some innovative design ideas that have proved to be just what we needed. Did I mention the installers? They were kind, professional, and immaculate. Most importantly, they took great pride in their work and spent time on details. We were so fortunate to work with The Cabinet Lady."

Customers say: Quality work
"The Maintenance Department Team is by far the BEST contracting company I have ever worked with. Before having the Maintenance Department Team begin the job, I had few contractors source the work to see if they could do the job, but none of them had the knowledge and character like Rich Gardner. Rich was friendly, easy to talk to about the project, and saw the vision for what we wanted to achieve. At that point, I knew Rich could get the job done based on the answers to my questions. During the entire renovation project, Rich demonstrated superior qualities by staying customer-focus, following-through on pending items, and delivering on all tasks (which was no easy job, renovating an entire 1st floor of a home). He continued to keep us updated day-after-day, and night-after-night. It was real assuring to know that we could have a conversation with Rich during any hour of the day (all part of our experience). During our daily walk through, he even saw minor-flaws in certain areas that I did not notice, and proceeded to correct them immediately. Folks, this is an amazing quality for an individual to have, and Rich demonstrated that. Rich is very honest and is a true professional who went above and beyond to get the renovation completed in the time he estimated. I admire Rich for everything he did for me, my wife, and our home. He has great ethics, and will not try to up-sell you on any service or additions that you donâÂÂt need. He makes you feel very comfortable by trying to understand your goals, and helping you see the bigger picture. I sincerely appreciate Rich and the Maintenance Department Team for their level of service, commitment, outstanding work, and effort in making our home a great place. Thank you Rich Gardner and team. You are truly the best at what you do."

"Our kitchen turned out absolutely beautifully, and I can't recommend SoCal Builders and our contractor David enough. From beginning to end, David and his crew were professional and communicative and did excellent work. I had been saving for and dreaming about this kitchen remodel for years, so I had very high expectations and the finished product actually exceeded my expectations. The materials are high quality (gorgeous cabinets!) and provided just the look we wanted. Even though it's always challenging to have people in your house, the crew did their best to be nonintrusive and cleaned up well after work each day. Any questions or concerns we had were answered promptly by David, and he's just a really nice guy. We trusted him right away, and he proved himself worthy of that trust. I'm already starting to plan the remodel of my weird 70s bathroom, and I'll definitely be calling David to do the work!"

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
