Customers say: True professional

"They did a great job. They were on time, tidy and polite. The first piece of granite had a huge flaw (not normal flaws). They replaced it with a new piece right away. The price was fair for the work we needed done."

"We had our old, outdated laminate countertops replaced with granite. I had no idea how the whole process worked, but I knew what I wanted, and Spencer went the extra mile and made the entire process from the first contact through installation a smooth and pleasant experience. Everyone was friendly and â very â professional. Our new countertops look fantastic."

"We could not rate Resurrection Builders any more highly! Ryan Sullivan was responsive in getting back to us and scheduling our initial project estimate. He listened to our ideas and even gave us an itemized proposal so we could see where we could make adjustments as needed. Additionally, Ryan's proposal was fair, and came in under other contractors' cost estimates. Every member of the team that we encountered was knowledgeable, polite, and professional. They worked efficiently and were respectful of our time. The crew went above and beyond to keep construction messes contained to the remodeling area, end even cleaned up at the end of each day. Ryan was in regular contact through each phase of our project to let us know who and what to expect. It is worth noting that the payment structure was divided, which helped to build a sense of trust and rapport, and ensure that all work would be completed and to our standard. We will look to Resurrection Builders for any future projects."

"We had 2 bathrooms redone and are very happy with the final product! Our team, lead by Tate, was very professional and responded to errors and changes very graciously and promptly. The downstairs bathroom was made with a zero entry floor and I had them put a track system on the ceiling for a curtain since the space was small and I didn't want any glass. I have elderly parents and needed ease of use in the space. They stripped it down to the studs and put waterproofing on the entire floor, dropped the shower floor down to the joists and poured a custom shower pan. No curbs to trip on. In the Master, they removed my old huge jacuzzi tub, stall shower and block window, removed the wall and expanded my linen closet. Took out my old vanity and toilet and had a custom vanity built with A quartz countertop that we went and picked out at Stone. There were a few bumps here and there but the team met each challenge with a positive attitude and made sure I was satisfied with every step along the way. We are very happy with both bathrooms and will hire them again to do another bathroom in 2026."

"Two thirds of the work had been done by the time I was able to see their progress and I was definitely pleased. I had to leave before the final touches so I didn't get to see the finished job but my realtor said it all looked great. The owner contacted me when a problem arose with sanding and staining the hardwood floors, told me exactly what was wrong and gave me reasonably priced options to fix it. The result was just right and I have gotten compliments on the floors. Price was a little on the high side but worth being able to leave everything in their hands. Marked Punctuality as N/A because I wasn't there to see. The time estimate was for about 3 weeks but it actually took about 5, mostly because of the delay caused by having to change plans for the floors---no fault of the contractor's!"

FAQs for countertop and backsplash service projects in Richmond, VA

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.

With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.

Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.

Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.

It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
