"Michael at Equity Builders was wonderful to work with. I called to get a quote on a new roof (he is a General Contractor) on 2 8x16 barn sheds. He contacted me in just a couple of hours of me requesting a quote on Angi. I text him pictures, he text me back within a couple of hours with a quote. Michael came back with a very reasonable quote and was at our place within 4 days to do the work...working around weather. (it's spring) My roofs were 27 years old...and Michaels even found shingles that came close to matching another roof we had. When his team left, not only was my roofs done very well, but the place around the barn sheds was spotless...you have never known they were there. Great Job! I'll be calling him in the future for some other projects."

"FIRM FOUNDATION CONSTRUCTION! Wow! This man and his crew are incredibly talented, skilled, and professional. They are timely and far exceed the expectations laid out for them! During the winter, here in North Idaho, the roof needed to be redone on the house due to age and general disrepair. They came to the rescue and completed it within a few days. Even though the conditions were rough outside, they powered through! Any person would be impressed with their work. One thing that stood out was their attention to detail and cleanup. They didn't leave messes but were neat and disciplined. Once the roof was finished, they assisted in dealing with additional fixes with insulation, drywall, and flooring. Similar to the previous job, they "knocked it out of the park!" If you're looking for great service, respectful workers, and an admirable work ethic, this is the company for you!"

"They arrived on time and got right to the job. It was done quickly and efficiently with no mess to clean up afterward. I've had siding done a couple of times before and this was the best experience I've had. I would definitely Italy recommend JDR Woodworking."

"Erin is an extremely good carpenter who built a large covered deck for us this last spring. We had several contractors bid the job and Erin was very competitive with his bidding. His helpful concern for our construction saved us time and money. We noticed he kept the work area very clean; and he did not waste materials. He offered design ideas that enhanced our original design plans without costing us additional moneys. I highly recommend his company and intend to keep him as our go-to contractor on any further projects we decide to do. Max Simpson maaax@bmi.net"

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
