"He got in contact with me right away! Quoted me a very reasonable price . Showed up on time the following day. He and his wife were very professional helpful and knowledgeable. I needed a very old sink stuck into my granite countertop. He removed it without damaging my countertop! Removing the granite from my granite countertop enough to fit my new sink in and installed it perfectly! I really didn’t think it could be done ."

"Contractor provided excellent consultation on the type of upgrades and improvements we wanted to make during our project. Jeff was excellent at suggesting improvements to our bathroom shower, entrance and new vanity and cabinets. He offered excellent contractors that we used for new granite countertops for kitchen and bath areas. He also met us at Floor and Decor store and assisted our selection of new bathroom tile and flooring that was used to replace our ugly old carpet in our living room, dining room and hallway areas. Contractor coordinated scheduling of tile, cabinet, plumbing and countertop installations with all sub contractors selected for our project. We are extremely happy with the results of their work!"

"We couldn’t be happier with our new full-view screen enclosure by La Rocca. The view of the water is stunning, and the quality of the work is outstanding. Professional from start to finish. Highly recommend! — Carolina"

"I absolutely love my new sunroom! What a transformation from a tiny unusable patio to a beautiful sunroom that is used daily. The whole process went smoothly from the initial estimate with TEMO product samples to the very end with a walk through with a company representative. The staff kept me informed of the timetable and changes to it. They are expensive but have a quality product that I know will last for years and years. I highly recommend this company!"

"We use Angies List all the time which is why I am writing this review and I would give them a C- rating. Seems like a good product but customer service is terrible. Our salesman Nathan was very good and we signed a contract on 3-19-18 for 5 accordion and 6 roll down shutters. Unfortunately, the job was not completed until 10-26-18, seven months later and it was a comedy of errors throughout. Installation was scheduled for June and delayed to July 23rd which is somewhat understandable given its hurricane season. They installed the accordions but did not have the roll downs. Unfortunately, the accordions were the wrong color, had to re-made and installed causing delays. They came back early August to install the roll down shutters but two didn’t work properly as motors were not large enough for the opening. Thank goodness the lead installer Thomas noticed and addressed the problem. I called my contact Dave at their office and calls were not returned for 7-10 days. When I did speak with him, we scheduled several appointments in August and September and the workers never showed up. We also did not receive a phone call from the company notifying us of this after we rearranged our schedule to be home those days. This included one occasion where they were to arrive at 9am and did not show. I called Dave and he said they would arrive at 2pm and again did not show and again no phone calls were received from the company. When they did come back out, one of the new motors did not work properly; one piece on another was damaged and had to be remade; and another shutter did not work properly. After another round of calls not returned by Dave they came back out 9-14 and 9-18 to address the issues, including one of the tracks not being properly installed. I then spoke with Tim at the office in early October to install the finishing trim work, but when the workers arrived they did not have the correct pieces for the job. After several weeks and not hearing from Tim, I called him to get the job finished. When they came back out, unfortunately there was one roll down where the trim was not properly installed and had to be rescheduled again. The job was finally completed on 10-26-18, amen."

"RX Renovation Experts earned our trust and respect with our major kitchen renovation project that has truly transformed our living area. Our old kitchen was built in the early 1980s and had been well-used through two generations of kids. We had visions of transforming this open kitchen space to something more elegant and functional. Jason handled our electrical needs and the lighting design, with the result being nothing short of spectacular. High-tech dimmable led lights range from indirect undercabinet lights that truly improve countertop cooking prep, to four additional and independently controlled banks of light sources. Everything is in a single control panel, so with many options right at our fingertips for dimming to filling the room with light, the lighting truly exceeded our hopes. Jason also has an additional inset overhead led above our sink with its control combined with the disposal control. Weâre seeing how superbly functional the combined features are to highlight the beautiful cabinets and/or backsplash and/or appliances. At night we tend to leave the undercabinet lights on at their lowest setting which makes a subtle nightlight. Desmond provided professional hands-on project leadership from the very beginning to the last little adjustment. He possesses tremendous building skills, design ideas, and an eye for detail. He has a very strong work ethic plus an approach that says, âquality assurance.â In our experience, these are exceedingly rare qualities, making it even more special when demonstrated by the lead person for the project. For example, demolition started with our tile floors being protected and braces set to hold heavy dust barriers from ceiling to floor which were then sealed. Desmond spent many hours transforming the old fluorescent light ceiling recess into a mini âraised ceilingâ that became home to a central led light source, which also had indirect lights behind custom molding he fabricated. With so many ways for illumination within this new central part of the kitchen ceiling, it had to have a perfect finish. Desmond also custom designed the granite table extension. We are thrilled with the result. RX Renovation Experts really do work as a team with excellent communication. The plumbing, electric, and carpentry all âcome togetherâ with precision. Nearly every bit of work is provided by their own internal employees, which probably helps ensure it is a true team. Granite cutting/installation is obviously a specialty, but even with this, their sub-contractor performs the tasks with skill. Desmond ensured he was there when the granite templates were created, and they all worked together discussing details. RX Renovation Experts listened closely to us at the beginning as we tried to describe what we were hoping to achieve. They provided great insight and options whenever appropriate, so we are extremely happy and proud of our new kitchen. We plan to use them again and will continue to enjoy"

"We decided to the entire downstairs of our home. We chose Gilbert Design Build to do the project. The entire project went well and we are very satisfied with the end result. Competent, pleasant workers, skilled at what they do, did a superb job of transforming our entire downstairs-kitchen, family room, living room, dining room, guest bathroom, master bedroom and master bathroom. The project was large and took longer than anticipated, but is so worth it in the end."

"Ryan was very knowledgeable courteous and responsive to any questions, issues or requests I had during the build out of our countertop project. He clearly had a thorough understanding and was great at answering any questions related to scope of work, product and timeline that really helped make the process smooth in completing at every step."
Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
