"Wayne did a great job. He promptly arrived each morning and worked all day. He was accommodating as the job evolved and features were changed. He provided tile samples for us to review well in advance of the scheduled work. He cleaned up each evening. We are planning to have him return to do a third bath this fall."

"My quartz countertop is beautiful! Saul helped me find my first choice of quartz at an affordable price. He and his team answered my many questions and went above and beyond my expectations. I saw their work at a local business site and knew S&F was a good choice. My new countertop is cut better than the original on my house. I canâ t say enough good about S&F."

"I LOVE my granite countertops!!! Trying to visit so many providers for granite was initially overwhelming because it was taking a lot of time to visit so many stores with a myriad of choices in granite. The company made finding the right countertop, and layout to update my kitchen easy. The work was done on time, the installers were awesome--they worked so hard and fast, cleaned up beautifully after themselves. John had some great suggestions which improved my vision for the kitchen and saved me money. I could tell customer service is a priority because the communication during every step from start to finish never left me wondering. I plan to hire them for my next project."

"This is a picture of only part of the job. These floors were very water damaged and golden/honey oak. 2 young guys sanded, repaired and stained. The floors are incredible! Many other jobs needed to be done. The entire Apex crew did exceptional work! We continued to add jobs as they went and they stayed very patient with each request we made. The communication was exceptional. Emails and texting communication was almost everyday. We were informed of every detail of the jobs and made aware of anything new etc.. these guys went above and beyond to get it all done. David Wilson kept the entire thing running smooth as different jobs required different workers to come and go. I can’t recommend them enough!!"

"Guest bathroom remodel project went very well; extremely happy with the results. Work included tear out, new ceiling (to correct an uneven beam; drywall, textured and painted); installed 3D porcelain tile on one wall; skim coat, sanded and painted 3 walls; installed vanity, sink, faucets, toilet, mirror, wall light, ceiling exhaust fan/light, baseboards, quartz countertop. Team (Felipe, Freddy, and Paulino) was professional, courteous, and very responsive to our requests. We selected and purchased the materials (most through Prosource) and CSI installed everything."

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
