"Rockstar Renovations “ROCKS”!! Transformed an almost century year old house into a 2024 home. Personable presentation; no pressure. Desired clear expectation of what I wanted done and offered options when I was unsure. Very flexible: worked around my schedule. Extremely understanding: worked with me as the cost of materials kept rising. Never too busy to listen. Always accepting of the multiple add-ons-and/or changes I wanted to make. Always easy to contact by phone or text message no matter how early or how late. All needed changes and adjustments were explained before being executed. The work was completed within the prescribed timeframe. PROFESSIONAL work by Professionals."

"Pleased overall with the bathrooms and kitchen countertops. Very polite, prompt, took care with walls, mirror and cabinets. They could improve on the finer details like polishing and sealing backsplash tops, small chips on edges and 1/2 inch measuring mistakes on several overhangs, things only I would notice. Looks beautiful overall. Great job for the money."

"Martell does great work. Can't say enough about his knowledge and abilities and his attention to detail. He estimates his work with extreme accuracy and sticks with the timeline communicated. He shows up when he says he will be there and works tirelessly to perform the work in the best manner and to the home owner's specifications. He's also able to make suggestions and recommendations based on his many years of experience in virtually all aspects of home repair and remodeling. When he needs outside assistance, he arranges it through contact he has in the field and is very particular about their work as well as his own. He is unique in his efforts to disrupt his client's lives as little as possible, cleaning up each day after work completion. I believe we'd be hard pressed to find anyone better. He's well worth both the wait (he schedules well in advance) and the cost (he's not the cheapest, but you get real value and service for our dollars) should you elect to engage his services. Martell prefers to use quality products and has the background to justify the selection of everything from paint to plumbing fixtures. He works with quality suppliers of cabinetry, countertops, tub/shower surrounds and glass to provide a product that will last and be admired. I can't speak highly enough about his work ethic nor value sufficiently his knowledge and expertise. In addition to all of this, Martell is personable and a pleasure to know and work with. You won't regret engaging him, whatever it is you need done around your home!"

"I needed our mortar repointed on our 15 year old brick home as some of the joints were crumbling or had holes. Constructo answered my request quickly and they were a pleasure to work with from the estimate to completion. They aim to please. "It went very well, very conceinsious, good ideas that we have considered to improve the architects drawings. The work was done under-budget and we are very pleased with the result. We have recommended him to our freinds for their building projects."
Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
