"Cascade Countertops did a beautiful job with my countertops. I had them do two areas in the kitchen, the pantry, and a linen area. The young man who did the installation was professional and polite, and he did a careful and gorgeous job. He had to troubleshoot an area where my cabinets were not level, and he did it in a smart and non-destructive manner. There was a slight delay because the initial stone came in and was not up to Cascade's standards, but the new countertops quickly followed and matched perfectly throughout the entire project. Cost was exactly as quoted. They also arranged for my backsplashes through another capable company. Highly recommend!"

"What a great experience at Solid Surface Solutions after going through all the cheapo Seattle area granite countertop shops and the pricey Home Depot type stores. They are very friendly and responsive through all parts of the buying and install experience. We enjoyed everyone at the shop and also the measurement and install people as well.Their initial estimate came in slightly high, but they were very willing to work with us to get near the price of some of the cheaper Seattle shops we visited. We chose to pay a hair more for these guys because they were the most informative and professional place we visited. Their knowledge and pride showed.
Alan, (I believe the owner), was extremely precise and helpful during the measurement process. He gave us several options to make our install work for us, as we did have some cabinet and wall issues that made it not an easy and straightforward situation. Alan educated me to all options and was very responsive to every phone call I had with further questions. I was pleased and thankful to have a patient and professional guy at my beck and call!!
The install went great, and we are very pleased with the look, edges, and seamwork of the granite countertops installed by SSS. We got it done in a day and are thrilled with the look, feel, and ease of use of our new countertops. We went to many many places and got a wide range of estimates before choosing these guys, and are happy we did. My wife said she liked the "feel" of the office and people helping us at Solid Surface Solutions more than any other place we visited. They will work with you on price and do great work. Granite is the way to go!!"

"I have been in the business for 40 years and he is the only person that I would hire for doing that particular kind of work. If there is a scale of 1 to 5, he is beyond that scale because he is that good."

"They did an outstanding job! They were a real pleasure to work with, honest and reliable. They re-did the entire main floor of my house which included removing a load bearing wall, all new flooring, kitchen cabinets and appliances, countertop, trim, paint, etc. Overall it was refreshing to work with such a professional group of contractors. Will definitely be using them again! Thanks."

"I purchased the coupon for a color consulting but ended up getting a lot more than I paid for. I'm actually in the process of remodeling my condo and I need an expert eye to help me pick out all of the materials for the remodel, basically starting the who project from scratch. I had a general idea of what I wanted but it's always nice to have a professional on hand. Gina was amazing, she met me at my condo and we discussed what I wanted and what I was hoping to achieve and then she met me a few days later at Contractor Furnishing Mart down in George Town. I was so glad she was there to help me, there were just so many options available that I would have been completely overwhelmed if I had to do this on my own.
Gina helped me pick out the flooring materials, the countertop and backsplash materials, the tile for the bathroom and shower surround and everything looks so great together. Once we had all the materials chosen, I was able to decide on the finish for the kitchen cabinets and I have to say I'm so excited and can't wait to see the finished result.
I plan to hire Gina again once all the construction is completed so that she can come in and help me choose wall color for paint and give me suggestions for drapery and furnishings. I have to say this was money well spent.

"I hired Denis and his team from Alfa Tile and Stone Works to tackle a fairly unconventional and complicated job - tiling the full interior of a custom built, in-ground hot tub. Additionally, working with special epoxy grout is not easy. His responsiveness and professionalism were unmatched. Vladimir, the gentleman who tackled much of the work, worked long days, many hours, seemingly often without even taking a break, to get the job done flawlessly. There is no playbook for this kind of work, and they handled ever twist and turn of the project to deliver a beautiful end product. I would highly recommend them for any kind of tiling work. In fact, I have already talked to them about another job coming up, where I need their help."

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
