"I contacted 5 other companies to replace a 27 year old wooden deck and railings. ONLY one of them showed up to provide an estimate. They were $7K MORE than FF&D for same materials. It was a replacement, not a new build. FF&D Kelsey very nicely followed up via Angies List. I ignored them for almost 3 weeks but Kelsey, kindly, without spamming me, suggested a free estimate at my convenience. I sent a terse reply thinking it would fall thru, but it didn't. Jim was beyond helpful, keeping in touch thru the HOA approval process. Within weeks they had a date for replacement and removal of old decking material. Within 2 days the work was completed without issue and we have a beautiful composite deck with vinyl railings. They did exactly what they said they would do and we're very pleased with the result."

They removed the old decking and steps in one day, then replaced the decking, stair stringers, and step decking over the next two days. The vinyl handrails were left intact because they were still in good condition. While replacing them would have been easier, working around the existing handrails required additional customization and skill, which Blue Crab handled without any issues. Once the job was completed, Blue Crab provided a week for us to review the work and returned to address a few minor items. "I hired homelife for a recent roof replacement. I went with them because of Ray who seemed like a genuine guy and wasn't pushy about making a sale. So everything was going well until I received a call from the owner of the company who reported that I needed 14 pieces of wood replaced. 14 x 50 is roughly $700 more than I budgeted. I do appreciate the call but I personally felt that 14 pieces of wood being replaced is a bit excessive. The second issue is that they replaced my skylight, and when I walked in my living room every piece of wood an nail from the replacement was on my sofa and actually damaged my sofa. I should ask for reimbursement for a new sofa to counter balance the additional wood cost. I had to shampoo my sofa due the the dirt that fell from the roof. The second issue is that the workers should have used a magnet to pick up the nails, instead they used a leaf blower to blow the nails on the grass. So I had to do an additional sweep of my driveway which I found several nails on the driveway and my back patio. So I guess they would like me to get a new roof and new tires. No my I'm afraid my niece playing in my yard, before she falls and slips on a nail left by this company. The roof looks nice yes, and I wont take away from the quality of work that that they did. But please be careful in your cleaning up practice and making sure you leave the home the way it was before you leave."

James did work on our double back deck, which consisted of upper deck top banister replacement, floor board & partial banister replacement on lower deck, and power washing & repainting of both decks.
