"I accepted the proposal for the service call on 9/19/08, but not for the French drain installation, due to price. The service call quote was $179, the French drain installation quote was $3895, and the company estimated 6 weeks to perform work at the 8/29 visit. The company called 11/10/08 to see if the service work could be performed that day. No one could be here that day, so we had to decline it. There has been no further contact from the company. 10/30/08 the French drain was installed by another contractor for < 1/3 the Americrawl estimate. When we used Americrawl before, we reported to them, after the work was completed, that their workers had forgotten to return an extension cord they'd borrowed. We got no response."

My only real complaint is that the project took considerably longer than was originally estimated. Be prepared if you have this type of work done that you are in for a major cleanup process afterwards. While they covered things with plastic and tried to minimize the dust, it pretty much permeated everything in the basement and took two of us about four days to thoroughly clean."
