"The service provided was exceptional. Wes demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and provided invaluable assistance throughout our experience. His knowledge and expertise were evident in his ability to help my mother with her setup of the entertainment center and television. "I really enjoyed the work by these Networking/Ethernet folks. A different provider had quoted me an $800-1000 project and said I needed Cat 6 cabling for ethernet, when really my existing Cat 5E was fine. All it took was ~$100 and one hour for parts and labor and I now have ethernet ports in every room that support Gigabit speed. Thanks again! Couldn't be happier with this."

FAQs for electrical service projects in Grand Junction, CO

In some states and municipalities, licensed and registered handypersons can change a light fixture and do minor electrical work. However, you should check with your state and local licensing boards before hiring a local handyperson. In most cases, it’s safer and more practical to hire an electrician for this job. It may cost more, but hiring a licensed electrician means they’ll get the work done to code.

Special light fixtures, known as damp-rated light fixtures, are recommended in bathrooms, particularly if they're near damp areas like showers and over the bathtub. However, in most locations, they’re not a strict requirement. For safety and longevity, damp-rated fixtures are a better choice. If you work with a lighting contractor in your area, they may be able to recommend the right kinds of fixtures for your space.

Yes, it’s possible to run a second light fixture to a switch, meaning the light switch would control more than one light fixture. Several factors can impact whether it’s possible and how much it will cost. In many cases, it may be easier and more affordable for the contractor to install independent light switches. Talk to your electrician about your idea to get their feedback.
