"I had a breaker problem that was turning off the power to half my home in Bothell. Switch Electric responded promptly to my call for help & the very nice young man who came to my home was extremely knowledgeable, thorough & systematic in his approach to identify the problem. I highly recommend Switch Electric. The two young men who assisted me in rectifying the breaker problem were great. Anyone who wants high level expertise in electrical matters, prompt response & excellent communication skills, hire Switch Electric for your electrical needs."

"My experience with A&A Electric was very positive. I've used electricians before, but Alexander Sablin was, by far, the most professional. He was very knowledgeable and thorough. Mr. Sablin patiently and clearly explained things (no mansplaining). I had some special needs when it came to timeframes, and he went above and beyond to accommodate. At the end of the project he left things cleaner than he found them. I highly recommend this company."

"I have used MIke and the folks from his company on a number of prior electrical jobs as I upgrade the electrical work in my old condominium unit. MIke and his associates have always done a great job (prompt, timely completion, clear communication before hand and great job at a reasonable price). Would use them again."

Small jobs welcome

"Yes, he got all the work done that he was hired to do. On top of that, there were obstacles that made the job more difficult, but he got around those and did an excellent job. I live in an older home and I have an older electrical box. I thought for sure he was going to tell me it needed to be replaced. But he said though it was old, It was still a good box. I appreciated the fact that he showed up when he said he would or would call to say he was running behind. I have found so many contractors these days don’t even show up so this was definitely a refreshing change. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for quality electrical work."

FAQs for electrical service projects in Seattle, WA

In some states and municipalities, licensed and registered handypersons can change a light fixture and do minor electrical work. However, you should check with your state and local licensing boards before hiring a local handyperson. In most cases, it’s safer and more practical to hire an electrician for this job. It may cost more, but hiring a licensed electrician means they’ll get the work done to code.

Special light fixtures, known as damp-rated light fixtures, are recommended in bathrooms, particularly if they're near damp areas like showers and over the bathtub. However, in most locations, they’re not a strict requirement. For safety and longevity, damp-rated fixtures are a better choice. If you work with a lighting contractor in your area, they may be able to recommend the right kinds of fixtures for your space.

Yes, it’s possible to run a second light fixture to a switch, meaning the light switch would control more than one light fixture. Several factors can impact whether it’s possible and how much it will cost. In many cases, it may be easier and more affordable for the contractor to install independent light switches. Talk to your electrician about your idea to get their feedback.
