"Fantastic! Professional, respectful and friendly. Inspected the circuit breaker problem, identified problem and explained several ways to handle the correction. Removed one light fixture over MBath vanity and reconfigured wiring for two replacement fixtures and installed a new electrical outlet @ the vanity. Explained the cost of each project before started work. Both of the electricians knowledgeable and worked diligently to make sure it was done right and would be aesthetically pleasing. They cleaned up after the job was complete. Would highly recommend and will definitely hire again for our electrical needs."

In some states and municipalities, licensed and registered handypersons can change a light fixture and do minor electrical work. However, you should check with your state and local licensing boards before hiring a local handyperson. In most cases, it’s safer and more practical to hire an electrician for this job. It may cost more, but hiring a licensed electrician means they’ll get the work done to code.
Special light fixtures, known as damp-rated light fixtures, are recommended in bathrooms, particularly if they're near damp areas like showers and over the bathtub. However, in most locations, they’re not a strict requirement. For safety and longevity, damp-rated fixtures are a better choice. If you work with a lighting contractor in your area, they may be able to recommend the right kinds of fixtures for your space.
Yes, it’s possible to run a second light fixture to a switch, meaning the light switch would control more than one light fixture. Several factors can impact whether it’s possible and how much it will cost. In many cases, it may be easier and more affordable for the contractor to install independent light switches. Talk to your electrician about your idea to get their feedback.
