"Service man arrived promptly. Quickly diagnosed the problem, replaced a contactor ($25.00 item) and replaced a capacitor ( a $15.00 item). This work took about 30 minutes. Charged $478.00. I think this was extreme overcharge."

"I would like to recommend Joshua Smith as a Tesla installer and overall electrician. He did a great job for my wife and I on the installation of our powerwall 3 and car chargers within our garages as well as trouble shooting some other electrical problems at our new home at Smith Mountain Lake. Additionally, he answers phone calls and shows up on time. Again, we highly recommend Joshua."

"I am happy to recommended JBE Services to anyone. The team expertly installed a mini split heating system including full electrical work. They did everything required to complete the job in a timely manner including coordinating the drop off of additional parts rather than reschedule for a different day. The team was friendly and conscientious. I'm happy to have found a electrician and HVAC specialist that I trust in this area. Thanks, again!"

"Greg and Ben provided outstanding customer service and explained everything in detail that was required of the job. I already believed just from my gut that the price seemed fair that I was quoted because Greg just seemed very honest and professional. I am in the Navy and when l told all the Construction Electrians I work with what the quote was they all agreed it was very fair. The work performed was also outstanding and we were extremely happy and are recommending Ra and keeping their numbers saved for the next job we may need. Thank you Gentlemen, appreciate it!"

In some states and municipalities, licensed and registered handypersons can change a light fixture and do minor electrical work. However, you should check with your state and local licensing boards before hiring a local handyperson. In most cases, it’s safer and more practical to hire an electrician for this job. It may cost more, but hiring a licensed electrician means they’ll get the work done to code.
Special light fixtures, known as damp-rated light fixtures, are recommended in bathrooms, particularly if they're near damp areas like showers and over the bathtub. However, in most locations, they’re not a strict requirement. For safety and longevity, damp-rated fixtures are a better choice. If you work with a lighting contractor in your area, they may be able to recommend the right kinds of fixtures for your space.
Yes, it’s possible to run a second light fixture to a switch, meaning the light switch would control more than one light fixture. Several factors can impact whether it’s possible and how much it will cost. In many cases, it may be easier and more affordable for the contractor to install independent light switches. Talk to your electrician about your idea to get their feedback.
