"I called Jorge at AK Hardwood Floors after our floors had been redone by a company that did not know what they were doing and almost ruined our floors using the wrong stain. We were distraught, financially strained, and desperate. We also had been out of our home for approximately three weeks and couldnâ t afford to be out much longer. Jorge was willing to accommodate our schedule by rearranging his workload and his price was fair and affordable. Jorge and his crew did a phenomenal job on our floors and exceeded our expectations 100%. I couldnâ t believe how beautiful the floors came out after the nightmare stain job the other company had done. "I found out the day before new carpet was to be installed that the vendor would not nail/screw down squeaky floorboards.  I called several handymen, and Byron was the only one available to come by that same day.  When he arrived, he tried to dissuade me from installing carpet over what he presumed to be hardwood floors, even though I told him that carpet was being installed the next day.  (It ended up being a non-issue, since we soon found out that we didn't have hardwood floors.)  He explained that he couldn't nail down the plywood planks and would instead have to screw them down to secure them for the long-term.  That tripled the price he quoted over the phone.  After several minutes of negotiating, we agreed upon a price for the floorboard work as well as odds and ends (fixing a running toilet, hanging some shelves, changing an air filter, reattaching a light fixture).  He was friendly and very talkative; I would have been frustrated if I were paying by the hour, but he bid for the job, so I didn't mind.  He was very helpful and thought through the consequences of certain actions before beginning his work.  When asked to take a look at a sprinkler head that wasn't working, he said that he doesn't do that type of work.  Also, he did a short-term fix for our running toilet, but it didn't fix the problem.  (He didn't bid to do any major plumbing help.)  Overall, I was very happy.

Dave is very personable and professional. The quote was within my budget, and the removal/replacement of my floor was scheduled within a few days. The technicians arrived on time and started work immediately. At 3:00 p.m. I received a call from my tenants, and they were very happy with the work and knowledge of the technicians. Photos of the new flooring were texted to me, and I was also very satisfied. I would definitely recommend this company and will keep them in mind for future projects."
