"Start was delayed by one day. Initial walk through with foreman did not happen as he did not show up until later. (He took very incomplete notes during initial contract discussion so made assumptions and mistakes, as did I.) Lost an entire faucet because I missed it on their contract rewrite. Ugh! Had to argue to get them to replace correct buckled walkway sections. The morning of the concrete deck pour had to have them reframe the deck due to not paying attention to detail. Also, I had to wrangle with them to come pick up the wood from the rotting decking being replaced with the concrete pour. It was way to much stress with these guys. This said, they were the best price. If you insist on a formal pre-contract-start walk through to make sure everyone is on the same page, they have good workers who know their stuff. The work is quality work. If you go in knowing you have to be the project manager, you can save a few bucks."

"Gus Mendez, the owner, was amazing. This was a very complex project repairing cracks in our living/dining room foundation. More extensive problems were discovered as the original 35 y/o foundation was poorly done. Gus figured it all out, removed the old foundation and the 8" of wet dirt underneath and replaced with 8" gravel, then rebar grid at 12", then new concrete and tile. Gus was a highly creative technical engineer and problem solver, and with a highly artistic/esthetic sense. There was really no one else who could have done this, as the only other company that does this had an insufficient assessment for the bid. See photos for the process and outcome."

"We hired Aaron and team to replace a driveway, backyard, and subsequently additional work in the other backyard. We are having electrical work done, and they wanted a lot of money to dig a trench through the driveway and then repair it. For a little bit more, Aaron was able to replace all the concrete that was deteriorating and in really bad shape. He quoted me quickly, and had his crew out within days. The part that has been laid is beautiful and perfectly graded to drain properly. Aaron knows what he is doing! He is professional, communicates, on time, and the work is impeccable! The project has been delayed due to PNM and electrical contractors, and he's been so flexible - sending people out quickly when I need something and patiently waiting for MONTHS for the rest to finish what they were asked to do. We hired Eric and SummerSweet Landscaping because he was the only degree horticulturist who owns a landscaping business that I could find in Albuquerque. We knew nothing about plants for NM, so we wanted an expert, and he is one. We walked the greenhouse together to select plants. It was a very good experience. His guys have been with him for many years. They are extremely knowledgeable about all aspects from irrigation to hardscapes. There are a lot of fly-by-night cheap guys in NM, but they won't be around to fix what breaks. You can find cheaper or more expensive, but you will get what you pay for. Eric has clients from years back and he also has the governor's mansion as a client. He will draw professional plans for you and your HOA at no additional cost, which few here will do."
