"Let me start off by saying, I am probably one of the most difficult clients to work with for home renovation... I am in the trades and an avid DIY type of guy. I am very hands on and take on most projects myself. I am not easily persuaded by salesman or sales pitches because I REALLY do my research before I let them enter my home. I got quotes from 4 different waterproofing companies before I met Fred Thomas. All 4 companies had different solutions to my situation. 1 waterproofing company used a scare tactic and told me my house was going to fall over if I didn't use their system... He then showed me on his laptop a video of how his companies system corrects the problem... Let's just say it was very expensive, confusing and would have destroyed our entire front yard adding more costs to an otherwise un-precedented and expensive fix... When Fred came thru my door, I knew he was the real deal. No sales pitch, no scare tactic, no laptop, just straight up and to the point... Fred uses a system that has been proven and works. He sells his product on experience and reliability not on new unproven technology or cheap inexpensive band aids. He knew exactly what the problem was and how to correct it. I wanted the guy who actually can install these systems on my house to sell me the job, not one who only studies the theory on the system. Thomas Waterproofing was booked 6 months out and I needed this project pushed forward quicker, Fred made it happen! His team was out the following weekend to get our job done. I probably drove them crazy with questions and picky requests, but they did everything I asked and more. During the project I found out I had to replace the cast iron sewer line in my slab. Another expensive repair... Not only did Thomas Waterproofing do the job we agreed to, they also Jackhammered out the slab for the plumbing to be re-done and supplied all the stone to be back filled. He did this as a favor to help me save on costs. David and Devon the 2 team leaders are great guys and very hard workers, I would have them do work on my home any time. I was very impressed by their overall knowledge of construction. Great attitude and great people to be around. This is the business you want on your project... Extremely pleased with the work done! "This is an update to the review below: I was contacted by AFS Chattanooga after writing this review. They were very understanding of our concerns and we came to an agreement that satisfied both of us. My only other comment is that you need to understand that they do not do cosmetic repairs and they will do the best they can to get the problem solved. We contracted with AFS Chattanooga to level part of our driveway and the steps outside of our garage. We are not happy with the final product. The salesman told us they would be able to do what we requested. We also had them seal the cracks in the driveway. At the time, we asked if they could make it blend in with the driveway. We were told they could not match it, but gave us the impression that it would blend and not be too noticeable. They came to do the work on September 11, 2024. They were unable to get the garage step leveled. I was told by Paris the foreman, they do not guarantee that they will be able to make it level, but they would only try. Not the answer I was expecting. If he thought it was not going to work, he never should have attempted to lift it. I now have a broken door sill that needs to be replaced.  The driveway was done, as best they could ;. It looks much better from the leveling perspective. However, the sealant they put down is not even close to blending. It is gray and our driveway has a pebble stone finish which is more brown.  I said that it was not acceptable, and Paris told me that AFS does not do cosmetic work. Not what I wanted to hear after the salesman said they would do the best they could and gave us the impression it may not match perfectly but would be close and blend.. Now my driveway looks terrible with gray stripes where the cracks were filled. This was not an inexpensive project and we are woefully disappointed. We lodged our concern immediately on September  12, 2024, with the company and was told, that it was just the way it is. We were told that our complaint would be brought up with management and we have heard nothing since. It has been one week to the day since the work was done. We want our money refunded for the back step since they accomplished nothing more than breaking the sill and would like some restitution for the mess with the sealant."

"John and his crew demolished the two large sections of driveway and prepared the bed with compacted gravel and poured new concrete. He repaired the smaller cracks in other sections with a filler material. It is rare these days to have a service provider show up when they say they will and do a professional job. However, John and his crew exceeded my expectations. They were on the job and working exactly as promised. John was not just overseeing the work but rather he played an active part in carrying out the work. They were quick and thorough and the new driveway sections look great. He was not the lowest quote but as I talked to each of the contractors who provided quotes, John provided a plan and exhibited confidence and professionalism that made it worth paying the higher price. I would hire them again and will recommend them to anyone needing concrete work."
