"We noticed some cracking on our outside walls and separation on our front steps. We realized that this is a common problem in Colorado due to the poor composition of the soil. So we recently secured the foundation of our home with Groundworks. First, let me point out that stabilizing the foundation of your home can be a daunting undertaking. It is also one of the most responsible ways to perserve the equity in your property. Groundworks has a reputation for excellence in preparation, execution, and problem-solving in foundation work. But we had never had to address this level of home renovation and the extensive landscaping in our yard complicated the scope of our project. While we were concerned about our project's complexity, we were extremely relieved at the high level of knowledge, competence, communication, customer service, and professionalism awarded to us by the Groundworks foundation team. Our foreman Clem, and his team (Luis, Noah, Ran, and Rokk) literally went above and way beyond our expectations to explain next steps, listen to us, problem-solve, and execute a solution to every concern we raised. "I have owned rentals properties in Lincoln for over a decade and I have hired a lot of contractors to do a myriad of work for the houses over the years. Thrasher has hands down been the best company I have ever hired. From the very first day I called them, they were the most professional, polite, and honest people I have ever seen. When Trevor came out to see what needed to be done (a leaking egress window, which was improperly installed by another company, Thrasher was there to fix their mistakes) he gave the most in-depth analysis of what the problem was I have ever seen. I had two other companies come and look at the same problem, one of which did not even go into the basement and gave me a cookie cutter answer. "Olshan is a great company. Alejandro and his crew did an excellent job in repairing our foundation and getting the chimney back against the side of the house like it used to be before the foundation shifted. Expensive, yes, but quality work usually is AND worth it!! My hat is off to Alejandro and his crew. They were very careful to put down paper so as not to track mud into our home. They were very careful so as not to disturb the cable wires running along the foundation. These guys were just great, Thank you."

"The sales guy was very impressive. He explained everything about the process and did a detailed inspection of the areas to be worked on.
He was honest in saying that sometimes the concrete seams don't match up perfectly, but that the installers would use a grinder to feather out any spots where this would happen. I asked about cracking and he said that it rarely occurred.
The installer came on the appointed day and was still there when I returned from work. He had completed much of the job, but indicated that he had trouble with some of the equipment and that some of the poly-leveling material had sprayed around some of the work areas. He said he would come back and finish the next day (which was a Saturday).
He returned Saturday and finished. I inspected the work and was generally happy with the concrete leveling; my front step was now very close to it's original height and my patio was shedding water away from the house. But I did find a couple of things that distressed me and told the installer about them:
1. There were two very noticeable cracks and a third very thin one. Would he be filling these cracks to prevent future water damage?
2. There were many places in the driveway where the slabs were still uneven. Was he planning on grinding those down as promised?
After he left, I also noticed that the patching material used to fill the holes seemed to be chipping away already and in several holes, did not even come up to the level of the slab.
He later called back and said that he would come back and use a high quality sealer to fill the cracks. He didn't mention the uneven concrete.
I later was contacted by the office about payment. I explained that there were outstanding issues. I was assured that arrangement had been made to fix them.
Then I made the ultimate error: I paid them.
When the sales guy made a follow up call, I told him there were still outstanding issues, and that I had been promised that they would be addressed.
No cracks have been filled, the holes collect water every time it rains and I am mortified at the prospect of trying to clear snow from my uneven driveway this winter.
Could I have made more noise with them about this? Sure. Should I have to after making three people aware of the problems? Certainly not."

Due to shade, dog damage, etc., our back yard had turned into a mud yard.  The grass had thinned or died, and the soil had then eroded away.  Penton?s team added a few of inches of soil and then covered the soil with sod.

I first want to praise the Penton team for showing up when they said they would and doing what they agreed to do.  My back yard was transformed from mud yard to thick lawn.  My only complaint is with the damage done to my front yard while moving soil and sod to the back yard.  I understand that some damage is inevitable, but the other landscapers that I have seen put boards down to limit the heavy equipment damage.  Penton?s team instead put down narrow sod patches to cover the tracks left by their track steer.  This left a very uneven patch of lawn, with high tracks where the sod was set bordered by low ?barrow pit? areas.  Friends and neighbors have literally tripped due to the very uneven strips.  I don?t know how the damage can be repaired without stripping, leveling, and then re-sodding the area.

I?m very thankful for the work that John?s team did for us, but I get a little angry every time I mow the damaged area.
