"Sunrise Garage Door showed up when they said they would. They figured out our problem and had the tools to fix it. They stand behind their work and told us that if the spring broke or stopped working they would be able to fix it quickly. They didn't try and sell us a new garage door when a 20 minute adjustment fixed the problem. I whole heartedly recommend this company and their crew to take care of your garage door malfunctions. They have the experience and knowhow to handle any problems you might have."

Customers say: Quality work
"We had our garage door spring break on a Friday. American Home Shield couldn't get anyone to come out before the following week, so we inquired as to which Garage Door Companies would fix it as emergency, since my wife has medical conditions and needs to be able to travel. Of the two Garage Door Companies that are available 24 hours, A1 Garage Door Service LLC was the only one that could be there same evening. They got to our home to fix the broken spring so we could open the Garage around 8:00 pm."

"I had such a great experience with Access! They upgraded my garage door with the myQ system and I’m honestly obsessed. It’s super convenient being able to open, close, and check on my garage right from my phone. The whole process was quick, the team was professional, and the upgrade has made my life so much easier. Highly recommend!"

"Elite Overhead Door was the best overall experience when I had my garage door replaced. I live out of town so I needed a responsible and trustworthy company for my house in Boise. They were amazing from the start. A real person answered their business phone and was very polite and intelligent. The door needed to be shipped and they knew exactly where everything was in the process. They kept me updated on progress on the day of installation. The installer was thorough and experienced. And fast! I asked for additional features above and beyond what he had available and Michael came out and personally made sure the door was to my highest satisfaction. He made me feel like I was his top customer. I highly recommend this company for any of your Elite Door needs. I can tell this company is well run and professional, top performance, and great customer care."

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
