"I originally hired Services & More to cut my grass. But...one thing led to another. As I also had an issue with one one my windows. The trim was rotted and water was getting into the wall causing damage, along with that, we desperately needed to replace our shingles. My husband and I wanted vinyl siding done. Adam, was very helpful with the whole process. Before I knew it everything we needed done had gotten done, and then some. What I liked most about this company was he never pushed or tried to sell us on any services. We just happened to ask. Once again, Adam took care of what we wanted to do and more, because we asked, including our garden beds. When they did the siding, they replaced ply wood in the areas that needed it, and also repaired the foundation, in certain spots. Adam also did the interior of our wall, where that window was. ALL VERY reasonable in price! Considering that they did quite a lot. They are my go to guys!! I've hired them for life! Highly recommend!!"

"I had an issue with water leaking into my basement, and Nim successfully resolved the problem. He recommended installing a sump pump and since then, I haven't had any issues at all. Nim was very professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy throughout the entire process. I truly appreciate his problem solving skill and high quality work. I highly recommend his service to anyone looking for a reliable handyman."

"The job went well, very brief and surprisingly inexpensive. (I understand everyone has to live, so I expected to pay for a livelihood, but I was delighted to have my wallet only lightly crimped.) Bertie Walsh arrived around the agreed time.  I gave him the two grab bars the VA decided I needed in my bathing area, an old retired vet in a wheelchair, like me. I live alone, in a condo, so I needed a handyman to install them.
I'm glad I had a professional person install them because, even if I were fit, I surely would have botched the job. This place was cut up into condos in 1987. It used to be just a red brick factory-- originally constructed around the turn of the 20th century to work with Brockton by making those metal lacing eyelets for boots. They used metal--not plywood--when they cut the factory into apartments like mine (Bertie Walsh later explained to me). If I were doing the job myself I would have been expecting wooden studs behind the tile--which would have been full of exploratory holes when I got done.
So, I pointed to the bathroom, assured myself that Bertie Walsh had all he needed, and went to finish watching the program I had on, wondering what I had to offer Mr. Walsh when he broke for lunch soon. How pleased I was when that time arrived and he said the job was done and that I only owed him $50!
Bertie Walsh explained to me that the grab bars were firm, but that he had to install them in the metal. Should they loosen, over time, do not risk injury, by all means call him.

Small jobs welcome

"Tom and his crew of staff and subs did a great job and were a pleasure to work with.  The price was the lowest bid but the quality and service were excellent.  This was a job to renovate a kitchen for a home our church provides for the pastor and the timing was challenging because we wanted the main work completed while the family was away for an extended period.  Tom kept the project on schedule (technically, it ran one week behind by the end but this was because significant problems were uncovered when the old floor was removed; if you adjust for the time to address these issues, the project ran on schedule).  Because this was a gut remodel with new lighting and plumbing service locations, and switching from baseboard heat to a toekick in the island, there were a lot of details and subs to coordinate.  In addition, the centering of the window over the kitchen sink and fitting the cabinets perfectly (uppers and lowers) so that everything lined up perfectly was a fiddly job.  The window was installed while the walls were down to the studs, yet when everything else was installed, the centering was precise to within 1/8" (in other words, perfect), and the cabinets, upper and lower, all lined up perfectly with the window and were centered/symmetrical around the window as well.  Through all of this Tom was a pleasure to deal with, professional, flexible, and clearly very experienced and knowledgeable.  He also installed the bay window in such a way that the countertop ran behind the sink up to the window instead of a windowsill, and the levels lined up perfectly for a very attractive and seamless look.  I have seen this online but I'm not sure that all contractors know how to do it well.
I was impressed that, when we had to ask for the pocket door to be reframed so that a family member who uses a walker could get through the opening with more ease, the re-work was done without complaint or impact to the schedule.  In the same way, when there was a misunderstanding about which trim was specified, he had his team pull some trim and do it over again, no charge, and no bad feeling.  Very professional.
I tell my friends that you can have all the paperwork and boilerplate in the world (and because I was coordinating this project as a volunteer for my church, I had a detailed contract, scope of work, etc.), but there is no substitute for good old-fashioned pride in workmanship and customer service, and Tom has both of these qualities.  Even more impressive, I first met him 7 years ago when he did some work on my own house, and all of his staff are the same people.  I think it says a lot about him that he's kept the same same team for 7 years and this gives me a lot of confidence in using him again.

FAQs for handyman service projects in Waverley, MA

To measure the right size for a pet door, start by measuring your largest pet. The flap should be at least one inch taller than your tallest pet and at least two inches wider. It's also important to measure the step-over, which should be no more than one-third of your pet's height from the floor to the back.

Pet doors are safe when you implement proper security measures. Opting for models with locking covers or electronic controls—such as microchips or collar-activated sensors—enhances safety by ensuring only your pet can use the door. These features are especially valuable if you have young children or want to prevent stray animals and intruders from entering your home.

Pet doors can affect your energy efficiency by allowing outside air to enter and affect the temperature in your home. You can minimize this impact by choosing a high-quality, insulated pet door that's properly sealed and weatherproofed. Investing in energy-efficient models helps maintain indoor temperatures while giving your pet the freedom to come and go.
