"Frank has done a few projects for me over the past year. I always call him first because he will respond to me very quickly. Frank and his crew are friendly, prompt, and they have done a great job for us installing electrical outlets, security lights, and wiring for our home entertainment system (projector and screen). Franks pricing is always fair. I highly recommend him and his crew!"

"Fabulous job! We area already see the difference with the insulation through Mass Save about 25%! Mark and his crew were very professional, courteous, and really nice guys. Garrett did a great job with estimating and made the process very easy and recommended additional measures to explore. I highly recommended Green Collar!"

"Excellent service from beginning to end. I first called to request the service, I could not speak with any members, but they promptly returned my call, understood the request and made an appointment. The day of service, the technician arrived on time and explained the work to be done and eventually his findings. He was very polite, professional and knowledgeable. He also gave us tips on how to better maintain the system for improved performance. Overall, excellent service. We highly recommend then and we will definitely use them again"

"Marty installed two different units, one in my man cave and one in my house. The man cave was a single unit that heats the garage and the man cave The other unit heat for different areas of the house. Marty was able to get into spaces, but I didn’t think anybody would want to go. We’ve had them for two years now and have had no issues whatsoever."

"Delta HVACR did a full home heat pump installation at our 5 bedroom home in Otis, MA (8 indoor + 2 outdoor Daikin units). Fedor and his team (+ Svetlana, Luba, and many others) were extremely competent, efficient, and delivered on all their promises from day 1. They had the best prices (especially for a project of our size) and most availability in the area- it took less than a week from signing the contract to complete installation on this very large project! They also provided their own 0% financing (quicker approval than the MassSave Heat Loan), took care of the MassSave rebate for us, and worked with us on a flexible and cost-effective maintenance plan so we can ensure the full life of this system. Fedor even got on the phone with me many times to address my nitpicky concerns and solve them with expert recommendations and tangible remedies (including complimentary installation of a smart wifi-enabled baseboard water circulator to alleviate my concern of a pipe freeze)- truly above and beyond. I would give them 6 stars if I could, and recommend them to anyone!"

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Buckland, MA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
