"We hired Bill Aitken Heating to repair our gas furnace, we had an accumulation of water in the furnace pan. I called Aitkens Heating and received a call back immediately. They were here promptly at the time scheduled for repair. Mr. Aitkens had my furnace repaired within a half hour. He arrived with his helper and I could not be more satisfied with the work these gentlemen did. Bill took the time to explain in detail what he did for the repair. Bill Aitken is our GO TO man for any of our heating and air condition maintenance. I would like to add he was very reasonable. My husband was not available to over see this project so I handled the whole project from start to finish. BILL AITKEM HEATING LLC. comes very highly recommended by the Perkins family."

"I reached out to Chris Scotti several years back to maintenence my heatpump heating and cooling system. Chris it immediately responsive to requests for service and has resolved any issue I have had with my heating and cooling system quickly and at a fair price. Recently my A/C was nit cooking my home. I sent a email to Chris at 7:30 PM on. Friday evening not expecting him to respond until Monday. I made sure to mention it was not an emergency. Chris emailed me back that very evening and came out Saturday morning, the next day, and got my A/C to cool my home again. He did some follow up maintenance the following Tuesday. Amazing customer service is all I can say."

"Bob helped me out to replace old ducting for a kitchen hood vent from a smaller size to a bigger one to prepare for new larger kitchen hood that I will be installing. He went above and beyond what I was was hoping for the project including adding a thermal break, additional insulation and damper to the vent that I did not think of. "The work was explained to me thoroughly. The workers arrived promptly, completed the work the same day and cleaned up. I inquired about a portable generator connection (the type most homeowners use) and they told me there's now another method called an interlock. It's far less expensive so I appreciated that info and hadn't known of this. I am (so far) very satisfied with Northern Lights and recommend them."

"Not the best, but I guess not the worst either.
They did the door blower test which revealed different air leaks in the house. They sealed around some of the doors in the home, installed some door sweeps, caulked around baseboard registers etc. However, the work was far from consistent and less than professional in quality.
There are 15 registers / returns in the home and we were told they would caulk around them all, they caulked around 7. 2 of which the caulking was so thin that it cracked before the next morning.
There are 3 sinks in the house where pipes were supposedly "foamed and insulated" on their report. There is no additional insulation visible anywhere that I can see.
We are entitle up to 40 CFL light bulbs in the home, however, even the 30 they said they changed were not completed.
For example:
-there are 2 nightstand lamps in the bedroom. One lamp received a CFL and the other wasn't touched.
-there is a hallway ceiling light that was supposed to be changed out with CFLs, but still has the same old bulbs.
-downstairs bathroom still has all three original bulbs
-two bedroom ceiling fans that take regular "A" type bulbs all have the same bulbs
I sent an email to the gentlemen who came out to the house asking if we could at least receive the extra bulbs. He did respond and said yes, but never got back in touch with me. After the general overall experience I did not bother chasing after them for a few more dollars worth of bulbs. However, the whole point is not the money, its the fact that these were all listed on the report and not completed accordingly.
They did recommend an insulation company to come in and give us a quote and also told us about different programs offered from the state which would allow us access to rebates for making home energy improvements. All in all, I guess it helped us to know where the air leaks were in the house, but the overall performance of the team was simply sub-par. They were nice, polite and somewhat informative but by no means "wowed" me.

"The subcontract (Sears contracts the installations out) was extremely professional and courteous. The removed my old boiler and water heater and installed the new unit on the same day. I'd read other reviews that said the Sears quote was on the high side, but for us, their quote was the lowest. We replaced a 60-year old oil furnace and a 20-year old water heater."

"I was having a problem with MS Office not responding and other files being very, very slow to open. Jim started looking for the cause right away. He did numerous checks for viruses, malware, and various other things that can go wrong. He vigorously pursued a resolution pretty steadily for two days before determining it was a malfunctioning external backup system that was causing the problem. With that finding, he promptly got my computer running smoothly and very fast again. He made two trips to my house; on the first one, he had to cross a sheet of ice in my driveway. Jim is a very capable and experienced computer analyst that will get after your problem because he fully understands the importance of, and the need to have a working computer in the house.
