"I am so happy that I hired Modern Air! Prompt, courteous, friendly, professional, knowledgeable. I couldnt have asked for better. Tom is a wonderful person in addition to his work ethics. I am never going to use anybody else from here on out. He doesnt try to up sell you or get you to get on their contract program and, he finds the problem and addresses that . In this record heat and being a Saturday didnt deter him I am blessed to have found Tom with Modern Air. He repaired my ac unit. Hallelujah! My unit is only 3 yr old but the idiot company that installed it did it improperly, didnt register it, left all kinds of debris in attic and would NEVER service it. All they want is $$$for new install and leave you hi n dry. Do not use Joe Hope Fl. West Coast A C!! I had to have the ac unit replaced in another house and I called Modern A C again in August of 2020 He is amazing! He came quickly and tore out old and installed new. Very professional. Got a permit. Registered unit. Very clean. Did everything the way it should be and at a reasonable price. I highly recommend"

"Unit wasn’t cooling so I called the company, who came out within hours. My system wasn’t able to fixed that night so they left me a portable unit, which I’ve never had done before. And they returned the next morning with the needed part. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend."

"I had them clear my condensate line on my AC. They showed up on time and did that work sufficiently. All is good on step one. The issue arose when I asked them to do a full maintenance check on my AC/furnace since I had been having intermittent issues with my heating coming on. And, unsurprisingly, they said that the repairs would have been in the thousands of dollars and my only realistic option would be to replace the whole unit. A few days ago I was able to completely resolve my heating issues by Googling the problem and subsequently doing a manual re-start on my Nest smart thermostat. Problem resolved by a flip of the switch and I saved 3K+ dollars by not listening to their expert advice. So, my only recommendation to anyone reading this is to ensure that when you hire big commercial AC company repair companies like Enoch, go into it with your eyes wide open. They do not pay a bunch of money for leads because they want to repair your system. That is simply the excuse to get their foot in the door. They want to find an older unit and sell you a new AC unit every time if possible. That is where the big bucks are in this business, not in repair. By and btw, I am confident that they would do a great job installing new systems. But there is little regulation of this industry and no incentive for them to just fix the issue and buy you another few years when they could cash in by telling you that your issue is beyond repair. Notice how most of their reviews here are about installing new units. That is because that is primarily what they advise everyone to do; And people trust them. Here is my expert consumer advice: 1. NEVER buy an AC/heat pump from the initial company that comes out to repair the unit and then tells you that you have no choice but to replace your unit. All you are doing is incentivizing bad behavior. 2. Get a second opinion from another AC company. If they diagnose the exact same thing, then ask for a full replacement bid. Then, advise them that they are competing. 3. Come back to Home Advisor and post that you need a new AC/heat pump and provide the exact size and model number. Then collect the bids, check previous reviews to ensure the company is reliable, and then select the most inexpensive offer. If you make them compete, you will typically save somewhere between 30-40% of replacement costs. Good luck but BUYER BEWARE."

"I don't write a lot of reviews, but I feel I need to write one here for the exceptional service I received. I'll give a short reason as to why I went with InverterCool, and then my full experience after that. It's a bit of a read, but hopefully not boring lol. These are the things that convinced me in going with InverterCool: PRICE - Their prices are on the website, and are haggle free. It was less than what most other companies were quoting me for a traditional basic AC. If you compare variable system vs variable system, it was thousands less than what I was quoted. InverterCool also gave me 10% off when I signed up for their email list, and I got a free WiFi thermostat with the system. They didn't have any extra fees added to the price. I did have to pay extra for a hurricane pad because I live in Florida, but I paid that to the contractor and not to InverterCool. The price was fair too. WARRANTY - InverterCool were the only ones to offer a 10 year warranty on parts, monitoring and diagnostic, AND labor. The other companies that I received quotes from only offered the 10 year manufacturer warranty on the parts. Most gave a one year warranty on labor, some gave 2 years, and one offered a 7 year warranty for an extra cost. None of them gave any kind of monitoring and diagnostic warranty except for InverterCool. CUSTOMER SERVICE - Ted is top notch. He went above and beyond my expectations. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and informative. Including the contractor they hired to install the AC. I was a bit skeptical at first to call InverterCool for a quote on a new AC system because I was unfamiliar with what an inverter system was. Also I had already spoken with 5 other AC companies with regards to a new system, and I was only getting more confused and sticker shocked by how expensive it is now for a new system. I called nonetheless, and I ended up speaking with Ted. Ted was super friendly and informative. He explained to me the differences between a traditional AC system and the inverter set-up InverterCool offers. Ted was also the only one to measure my home room by room and calculate the size of the system I would need to keep my home cool during the summer (I live in Central Florida, it's mostly summer year round), and warm during the winter (for the few days we get here lol). All the other companies I had come out quoted me on 3.5 ton and 4 ton systems. Ted went off of the measurements and quoted me a 3 ton system. He explained to me that while going with a higher tonnage system will cool the house faster, it will do so by wasting more energy and it will not run long enough to remove the humidity from my home. Which was one of the complaints I had about the previous system in my house, and one I mentioned to every AC company that came to the house to give me a quote. As for the system, Ted explained to me the system is rated to be at 16 SEER, but that's at its minimum. The variable speeds of both the outside unit and inside unit run at will have the system operating more at a 17.5 SEER on average. Even getting up over 20 SEER on at it's peak efficiency. Proven by my utility bill already. My most current utility bill was almost $100 less than the previous month, and that's with the system only operating for half of the month. The system was not installed by InverterCool. They hired a contractor to do the installation. The contractor was recruited by Ted beforehand, and he stands by his quality of work. Sorry for the long review, but that has been my experience with InverterCool. I 100% recommend them. If you're in the Central Florida area, ask for Ted. You won't be disappointed."

"1. Work quality hard to see, since duct is in the attic. There were 2 installers who were enthusiastic to do the work and cleaned up, besides disposing the old duct. I did NOT get a picture of the finished work -- that would help! 2. Customer Service was inconclusive, since my initial email of concern was never answered. I received blank email invoices for a deposit receipt. Their customer service were courteous. However, I never thought I was speaking directly to the Company--when calling you had to choose which of 3 different Businesses you wanted ?? The Sales Person was very effective in noting the work and location, where the work took place. He collected a deposit for which he emailed me a blank receipt for deposit. Unfortunately, after departing, he could not be bothered in rectifying the situation and referred me back to that customer service/ Call Center. FYI: NO ONE connected with this Job followed up!! 3. The value for money can only be answered by what my need was, and the affordability. This part worked out very well for me. I had one "problem duct" causing a ceiling vent leak. I could not afford to get the whole house re-ducted, thus, I needed to address the direct problem at hand: replacing one duct, which was better than repair! This is where ONE AIR really came through by just replacing with one NEW DUCT. As result, I paid an affordable fraction of price to accomplish the immediate cause. This bought me time for when I can afford to replenish the whole house. With this consideration and trial I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN --AND hopefully the Company will have settled to improve communications. Thank you Angi P.S. I originally wanted to use Strong on your list. James (Owner) kept me waiting 2 Weeks, stalling and then says he wanted to charge $140.00 just to come and see what the job was. After, that he was hard to contact with no response -- and this is how the course went. I decided to contact someone else. I would not consider Strong Unlimited AT ALL!!"

"After checking on Angi and being contacted by Velocity Air Conditioning, Inc., I hired the company because my A/C was not cooling. Brandon came out that very day, on a Sunday. After determining that my very old A/C (2005) could not be repaired, I contracted with Velocity to replace my system - A/C, heat pump, and new thermostat. Gary came the very next day and installed my new system, and he checked that it was working properly. Both technicians were very professional, courteous and efficient. I would highly recommend Velocity Air Conditioning, Inc. Velocity does not even charge extra for coming on a Sunday!"

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
