"I highly recommend them. Chris was punctual, explained all that he did, fixed my problem in one trip, gave my heat pump a quick check up, and didn't try to sell me a new system even though mine is 16 years old."

"We added a spacious garage to our home and wanted to install a mini split system while relocating our existing air conditioning unit. Since my husband and I were new to mini splits, we had plenty of questions. Taylor the owner of Shaffer’s heat and air was incredibly helpful in guiding us to the best system for our house and garage. They sent Stephen out to handle the installation, and Stephen arrived right on schedule, proving to be both friendly and efficient. The project took two days, and on the second day, Taylor joined Stephen to wrap things up. They worked seamlessly together, completing the job on time with everything looking tidy and well-organized. It's been over a year since the installation, and everything is still functioning perfectly! We will definitely be using Shaffer’s heating and air for our next project! Thank you guys!"

"After some heartfelt discussion, our miscommunications were rectified and we now have a solar system that is producing excess electricity, and the EnPhase monitoring system is top-notch! The staff at Solergy is always pleasant, respectful, and always works diligently within their roles. Roderick is very smart and has fulfilled his commitments. Based upon referrals from friends and our satisfaction with our solar installation we can recommend Solergy for a home solar power system."

"We own a home-based business which relies heavily on our computers operating efficiently. We have had a service contract with another computer repair business for several years. Recently when we were having problems with our computers, we tried contacting our service contractor multiple times. He never responded. Feeling frustrated, I contacted James at North Alabama Technical Services and explained our situation. He instantly came to our rescue. He "cleaned-up" our computers and took care of all the problems we were experiencing. He went above and beyond to help us in our dire time of need. We would strongly recommend James and his company for computer service needs. We have now retained him on a service contract and are looking forward to working with him in the future."

"I couldn’t be more impressed with the service I received! The team came out to install a large heat-pump package unit, and from start to finish they were nothing but professional, efficient, and incredibly clean with their work. They showed up on time, were well-prepared, and handled a big job like true experts. The installation was done neatly, everything was explained to me clearly, and they made sure the entire area was spotless before they left. It’s rare to find a company that takes this much pride in doing things the right way. If you’re looking for a reliable, skilled heating and air company that delivers quality workmanship and outstanding customer service, I highly recommend them. They truly went above and beyond, and I’m extremely satisfied with the end result! 10 stars!"

"We are very pleased with the new roof installed by O’Franco Roofing. The job was completed in the time frame and at cost quoted. They cleaned up very good after the work was completed. Edwin made sure to communicate with us in a timely manner and to address any concerns we had. I have already told recommended O’Franco to others and they have completed work for them also. FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Fort Smith, AR

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
