"Grove Heating & Cooling came to the rescue 5/17 after another local company couldn't complete the job. We needed our heat pump/compressor moved for the installation of a patio then reconnected. The "other" company disconnected then couldn't schedule to finish even after giving them a months notice ahead of time. We found Grove and gave them a call. It was after hours and the on-call tech returned the call. He wasn't able to come out that night but made sure to call to schedule the very next morning. By noon we had service to reconnect the heat pump and 3 hours later we were up and running. Everyone at Grove were so responsive and went out of their way to make sure we felt like a priority. You can really tell why they have been in business as long as they have been with how well they treat their customers on top of being technically proficient. Our family is now a super fan and advocate for Grove. Highly Recommended! Mike"

"I have had a service contract with McCrea Heating and Cooling since I purchased my condo unit new 7 1/2 years ago which included 2 maintenance visits a year. My current contract expired yesterday so I called to renew my service contract and upgrade from "Bronze" to "Silver." The representative took my charge card information over the phone. I asked if the contract was in effect as of today. They said "yes." Then I tried to schedule a service call (my unit was serviced a little over a month ago and now the condo wasn't cooling.) I was told then that the Silver Contract would NOT be in effect after all. The difference in price between Bronze and Silver is the cost of a diagnostic visit so they were getting the money one way or another. My long time history with the company did not persuade them to honor the contract I had just paid for. They wanted to charge me $98 to have my problem diagnosed under the Bronze contract that I pointed out was already expired. I was told the representative "misspoke" and should have told me they would have to send out someone to determine whether the furnace they have been maintaining for the past 7 years (with the most recent service call just a month ago) would "qualify" for the Silver plan. So, I cancelled the order for the Silver Plan. I called another company who came out for $30 and determined the problem was a clogged condensation drain. This drain was supposed to have been "blown out" when the regular maintenance was done by McCrea just a month ago, but obviously was not. The water was backed up in the drain pipe and filled the pan under the furnace/AC unit which turned off the AC. Now that everything is working again, I am seeking a different maintenance service plan provider. McCrea has competitive service contract prices, but if they have no customer loyalty, and the maintenance work is not done properly, maybe it's a question of "you get what you pay for.""

"I was lucky enough to have someone refer me to BlueStar Air Mechanical when my AC started acting up. The home warranty company confirmed that it was busted, but their mechanic was unreliable. The systems recommended were upgrades to what I had (increasing 1/2 ton on each system). To accommodate this, BlueStar included extra ductwork for me so that my house could accommodate. We met on a Saturday, agreed on a price on Monday, and everything was installed on a Thursday. They sent two crews and these guys worked hard for 12 hours straight to make sure both units were completed that day. I was very happy with their pricing and service. I have already recommended them to people I know in need of HVAC service. Pros: Pricing, options, promptness, service. Cons: 3% surcharge for credit cards"
